oh arm, we went to the corn boil, ryan had a good time. they ran out of hotdogs tho! before even half of the ppl got up there! incl yours truly. so ate 2 baches of corn, i'm popping with corn.

anyway, we had awana right after, ryan came off playground looking very O.D.D. (not odd, oppositional), said he was fine. but when he got to awana, he said he wasn't going his stomache hurt.

(he had been swinging alot)

anyway, i think something might have put him in a bad mood i donno. or when we pulled him off of playground interupting his fun.

anyway, i told him your going this is my 2 hours of peace and quiet, and i'm not giving it up! so got him in there, and as soon as they got everyone sorted they played games, kewl games. but ryan told them he couldn't run. (?) ok, so i thought sick stomache.. but i'm wondering if his legs are hurting from that kid beatin him up (who was at the darn picnic!, doesn't even go to this school anymore), or if they had another altercation..i donno

we stayed for a bit, he refused to participate in games. we came back at the half way pt, this time they were in the auditorium learning stuff. and he was fine. they prayed, sang and finished up with homework.

ryan was so CHATTY! he was proud of the work he did in his workbook, they're learning about bugs and the bible (lol). the pastor stuck a rubber bug inside his homework, EWWW talk about realistic! this thing did NOT come from the dollarstore, it wiggles realistic, and gross..it sticks to anything.

and it was the bug i'm most afraid of, a COCHROACH! i wouldn't go near it. noway, i'm that terrified of the things.

so he got right at his homework after playing with the bug for half an hour (ok, the kid is simple..what can i say?)

and now he's tired out. but he did a complete 180 at church. he was thrilled that they can earn badges, and go thru these workbooks, he's half way through one, after memorizging a half dozen scriptures. i even overheard him explaining a scripture to his leader.

i had to look twice and make sure what i was hearing really was comming out of my kid's mouth..

Thanks for all your kind words of encouragement--really appreciate it. DH & I are going to the Smoky Mtns for a mini vacation for a few days. I received a threatening email at work a few days ago & my supervisor contacted the police. I am sure it was a scam, but still it was rather scary. Needless to say it will really be good to get away for awhile. Will miss all the chit chat tho.

haunish: my cat has food allegies, well, 2 of them do. and when i had to switch foods, i had to check the ingredients and try them on something they've never had. well! most catfood contains chicken. they thought our cats are allergic to either beef chicken or fish. DOH. so the vet recommended 2 diff types, i believe one had lamb, the other was green like peas and smelled rank.

so i checked the petstores, i found one, at pets unlimited, nutrience holistic. now it contains chicken, but as a base, it's main ingredient is DUCK. i think it's duck, salmon and veggies. big bag about $40 (price went up), it does go on sale occasionally.

you could try a small bag of it, and do what star said, mix it a little at a time adding a larger portion each day over the course of a week, until it's 100% new stuff.

if it's allergies, it can take up to 6 weeks before you notice a difference, so don't rush and switch back. it took my cat a good month. she lost all her fur on her belly and scratched her neck til it bled. my other cat, would go around the house howling, and then throw up

i figured out whats up...shes in heat...lol...time to get spayed...cost sucks though $180..but theres a vet who come sto your house who does it for $60 so gonna see if that works seems weird but everyone says shes good just does house calls though

Last year my vet told me to switch from Purina Cat Chow to Iams Weight control 'cause my 7 year old cat was almost 15 pounds. He's still a porker even though he gets less than a cup a day.

I have four cats. The vet said that three of them had to go on diets. My biggest cat is almost 20 pounds. He looks like he's part Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest cat. This cat will never be small. His paws are huge. My smallest cat is about 8 pounds. She looks like a kitten next to Shadow, my huge kitty. The three who were supposed to lose weight, did. I don't keep food out all day. They get fed twice a day and if they don't eat all of their dry food, it goes away.

I think it's great that there are so many cat lovers in this thread.

I got news people. First baby Nina is doing pretty good. No spells in awhile. Saw the little beauty today. Swelling is going out of my sons optic nerve. Still getting the tests done to see if there is any reason for his problems. So great to have good news for a change. (not so good news) Mil had the surgery today but is on a respirator still. They said it could be several days, but she is waking up for a few minutes now So that is good sign.

and took an allergy pill when i got kicked off the puter to see if that would help and it didnt so i guess if its like this tomorrow i will call doc on friday and see if he can get me in next week some time just to make sure

I fed my cats Iams until a year ago when i heard about all the testing controversy. I had them on the weight control and it did absolutely nothing to help them lose weight. Actually, my mothers cat was up to 23 lbs - she tried every type of food and finally found one that worked.. her cat's lost 7 lbs the past year. I'll ask my mom what food she's using and get back to you. I think its a natural brand with lots of fibre so the cat doesnt eat as much of it.

I read somewhere that you're supposed to change their food gradually over 5 days but I ended up mixing in the new food with the old over a period of a month. I didn't want any more digestion problems with him. He eats plastic (grocery bags, ziploc bags etc.) and it got lodged in his stomach so it cost $1000 for surgery. I don't even think he noticed that his food was changed.

Hey Rebelinu, ty. Yes Iams is evil...I can dig up the info and proove it. As well their food is not the best anyway. A lot fo these dry foods have fillers... Corn, what cat needs corn? by products, another nasty thing...means left over parts. I started readign labels and I was SHOCKED. Anyhoo, if you need to do low cost the best thing is the wet food. For nutrition sakes anyhow.
