I woke up to quite a painful surprise this morning, and my hubby said it sounds a lot like something happened to my achilles, so he put some pain cream on it, but of course nothing is touching that pain.
How do I go to sleep feeling just fine, and wake up in this kind of pain?!
It's just above my heel, wrapped around that skinny part, and the pain is radiating up to my knee! Ouchies! I can't bend my ankle, so driving is out for today, and I wanted to go fabric shopping....it has to stay at the 90degree angle or it's a killer pain!

    What the heck happened overnight?!!
If anyone's been through this and has any information or suggestions on how to get rid of it, I'd be much obliged....

I'm sorry to say you very likely have tendinitis - I had it once and felt like cutting my feet off would hurt less. My MD gave me powerful anti-inflammatories and they helped enormously. If you have a walk-in (or hobble in? ) clinic nearby, go now - waiting will just prolong the agony and OTC meds won't help enough to make you feel better.

Thank you, Screamy...that's exactly what it feels like...like someone took a knife and cut the back of my lower ankle...I've never had pain like this in a very long time...even just sitting here, I'm in so much pain...But what gets me, is I'm not a runner or an athlete, all I did was wear fairly low heels yesterday to perform a wedding, but they're the ones I use every Saturday, it's not like I"m walking around in them every day....yes, we have a clinic close to us, but omg, I hate the wait!
I'll call our family doctor tomorrow and ask his nurse (she's very nice) if it's something I should see him about...

Thanks for your suggestion...I'll try a couple of Tylenol for now and see what happens...wow...this just yucky!!!!

Lynn, this happens to me once in a while, unfortunately - sounds similar, anyway.

Have your dear husband massage you - start with the bottom of the foot, then move to above your knee, then go down your calf - gosh, wish I could send my husband to you, lol!
I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have him to (frequently) massage out my ouchies.

Hope it gets better for you soon!

Thank you, Natalka..he'd certainly be okay with that if I'd let anyone close to my ankle right now...I finally had to take something, so I took 2 tylenol xtra strength to relieve some of the pain....it's making me sick to my stomach, if you know what I mean, so I had to take something which I always hesitate to do.
I'll call our doc tomorrow and hear what he suggests....I was playing a game on here for quite a while earlier, and it started feeling better so I tossed dinner together and put it in the fridge until it has to go into the oven, and by the time I did that, I was nearly on the floor with pain. I have weddings and meetings all summer...I can't be sick!!!

My dh had plantar faciaitis (sp??) and the dr. gave him exercises to do and it went away. It sounds like it is inflamed and trying to use it might make it worse. I hope you can get some help from your dr. soon. As my dr. says - if you are not well yourself, you can't help others - so be kind to yourself, my dear!!! We worry about you!

Thank you, Avon...as you know, it's moved to my calf muscle (I have a muscle??!!) which my our doc said it could do when my hubby had it, so I live with it and hope it goes away pretty darn quickly!!!
