While there are limited types of trains, users work hard to personalize them and it is frustrating for users to find they have been copied pretty much word for word by another conductor.
If you are running a train, take the time to make the post yourself and PM users if you want to borrow ideas from their trains.
It is rare they say no, they are often flattered, but copying without permission seems to be an issue for many conductors and I would hate to see them stop running trainsThis thread is currently associated with: N/A

Thank you so much for this thread FP.
I think we're all happy to share general/basic ideas with one another, answer any questions, help newer conductors with forming trains, etc. so I dont see the need to copy & paste.
Seeing someone copy your words verbatim is just so disheartening. I've taken 3 years to form my trains (come up with rules, wording, guidelines) because lets face it, hosting a train is a learning process! I've spent the past few years tweaking things to make them right. I honestly cannot explain the sadness I feel when I see someone has simply copied my train. I've always felt that conducting is a serious job and that if someone wants to be a conductor then they should put the work in, which includes writing out their own trains.
Having said all that, I'm always happy to help if anyone needs to bounce ideas off or ask questions about trains etc.

And.... it seems to take quite awhile to fill a train if the riders know the train idea is "stolen".
Like Lola said, conductors take the time to think of a great idea... only to have it posted again the next day.
Great post FP!
~Thank You~

Totally concur on all of the above comments. My current train took me 3 days to create. I think I would poop my pantaloons if someone else posted an identical one without asking first .

..........Just wanted to make sure everyone out there in couponland saw this wonderful post by fallen pixels. And, I also wanted to concurr with Pumpkin in that I'm leary to join a train if I know the idea has been copied from another conductor.
