The wife of Manitoba Liberal Senator Rod Zimmer has been charged for a disruption on an airplane that landed in Saskatoon Thursday night.
CBC News has confirmed Maygan Sensenberger was arrested as she got off a flight from Ottawa.
Sensenberger, 23, appeared in a Saskatoon provincial court Friday after she was charged with endangering the safety of the aircraft and causing a disturbance.
According to the Saskatoon Police Service, the flight crew called ahead of time, at about 8 p.m. CST, saying Sensenberger had been causing a disturbance during the flight.
Police said the commotion started with a verbal disagreement between Sensenberger and Zimmer, 69.
CBC has obtained court documents from Sensenberger's appearance this morning that states she had uttered threats against her husband and also threatened to take down the plane.
No one was hurt and the safety of the airplane was not compromised, police said.
Sensenberger will remain in jail over the weekend — at the Pine Grove Correctional Centre in Prince Albert — and is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday morning.
That's an important day for the couple for another reason, it's their first wedding anniversary.
Zimmer has been a senator since 2005. He's a businessman, philanthropist and was a fundraiser for the Liberal Party of Canada. He was born in Kuroki, Saskatchewan and currently resides in Winnipeg.
Kuroki is about 260 kilometres east of Saskatoon.
69 and 23.

Not know what to say about the age, I would say one is hot and one has money but who knows. I'm saddened by the comments made on their wedding fb page, very mean.
Her whole Facebook page is mostly open, just glanced at some pics as I am nosy, they look like they have fun together. I know for me the age difference would be an issue. Maybe I am too shallow, but to speak practically she would be in her 30's while he is in his 80's, if he were to become not such an active guy. the almost 50 year age difference just is too much in my mind, but I am not the one in that marriage.
I do however expect better behavior from a senator and his partner.
This picture really highlights the difference in age: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=207389732641075&set=pb.157310667648 982.0.1345921486&type=3&theater

I'm sorry, this comment is something my husband just said:
"Some people say he is a cradle robber, I say she is robbing the grave"
Got me giggling.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:

Such excitement for our little Toon Town! Funny how they say 'verbal disagreement' - apparently it was a rip-roaring fight, she went nuts.
Odd, though, that they would send her to Pinegrove for the weekend - it's about an hour and a half north of here. What, the city jail isn't good enough for her?

Congrats to the flight crew for handling this so well.
No one should ever make a threat of taking a plane down.
Whether you are 23 or whether you are 83.

The age thing is what gets me when I put it into a personal perspective. I know it happens and all and maybe isn't relevant, but being 41, if I were to follow his path then my future wife wouldn't even be born for another 5 years. And I have a grandchild coming this October. Just... not right.
But I guess it works for them - other than the occasional airplane spat that lands them in the national spotlight.Last edited by DaveP; Sat, Aug 25th, 2012 at 09:42 PM.

Whoa, Dave, you are going to be a very young grandfather!
My husband is 10 years older than me. For me, that's max, but to each his own.

Hm.. things just got very odd...
She appeared in court this morning, but she was released on bail, and is going to be staying at a farm outside the city.
The court declared the situation a domestic violence issue, and therefore she will be back in court tomorrow on the matter (it's a different court for that here).
She cannot have contact with her husband, other conditions are her keeping the peace, etc.
Other details from the hearing are under a publication ban.
Husband was in court, did not speak to media.
So they will not be celebrating their anniversary together....Last edited by Natalka; Mon, Aug 27th, 2012 at 02:09 PM.

Ineteresting Natalka, CBC hasn't reported on that yet. Their latest is saying she feared he was having a heart attack and that's what the disturbance was about.

Update to the story:
http://news.nationalpost.com/2012/08...eased-on-bail/
Anyone else think it is a little strange she doesn't have her own credit card or at least a secondary credit card of her husbands? I guess not working would impede her having her own credit card, just seems odd that she doesn't have a secondary card.Try out the maven box by julep And code FREEFB, and get your box for one cent:
