The RIM Black Berry Play Book ( tablet ) - 32 GB - is going to be on sale at Wal Mart for $ 118 starting this Friday ..for their anniversary sale

Buy it today and get a price protection on Friday
..or Price Match at other stores on Friday .
In Quebec, the sale has already started today ( Wed ).
So if you want a decent tablet for a reasonable price go for it
This is the 32 GB version and not the 16 GB version , so a decent price at $ 118.
If you got it for $ 148 earlier , you can go in and do a Price Protection for 30 bucks and get it for $ 118

Yup its a decent tablet , not as bad as its made out to be by Apple fanboys.
You can literally buy 4-5 PB's for the price of 1 Ipad
..and it will do pretty much the same thing that all other tablets do
PB is more than enough for most tablet users , but people still want the more expensive gadgets just to show off.

I just got back from Walmart - the 32 Gb is NOT $148, it is the 16Gb. The 32 Gb will the $228 (or $220, I forget). I got this straight from the manager, he said the ad was deceiving (shows a 32 Gb with a price of $148) but said it lists 3 UPCs (16, 32 and 64) with the price starting at $148.
Edit: I'm looking on walmart.ca and the prices in Quebec shows $148 for the 32GB...perhaps the manager was wrong. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.Last edited by Totter; Thu, Sep 6th, 2012 at 03:21 PM.

I'm looking at the Walmart flyer and it shows the price as $148 for 32GB...there is no mention of "starting at" so I think the manager "was wrong"!!

if he did he would have known that it is going on sale tomorrow

i bought the touchpad from TSC last yr. (i lost it last week *sob*)
for me it was great. but then i am not a techie who vibrates at the sight of each latest and greatest model that is launched every few months.
now i got this to replace my lost touchpad. i am sure it will serve my humble wants and needs
it's really very personal. the fact that a lot of ppl are buying it is a good indicator that it does have some value. in a couple of years, all that is on the market today will be so totally outdated anyhow

I'd wait at least until the Apple announcement next week. I bet there will be plenty of price drops/fire sales on tablets coming very soon.

Well, I love mine with a passion...it goes everywhere with me!! So many neat things to do, and finding new stuff too, you can do things to it to make it play android aps as well, put music on it without hooking to the comp, watch movies in HD on your tv from your playbook and download movies right to the book..about the only thing I dont like that it cant do is Netflix as of yet...great deal, I am peed it is cheaper for more room now though, but only when I do the movie thing I run out, but just delete the movies as I watch them anyways...

I go the 32gb playbook bundle from TSC last year for my cousin. It was $399 but came with extra's like hdmi cable, leather carry case and docking station. Also could do 6 monthly payments. I know it's more than the $148 but she's 10 and was happy with it,lol.
