Promo points will not be taken away. As has been said before, they've had plenty of time to stop this. It is now Wednesday the 12th. The promo has been on since the 8th. And from what I understand from posts on here, they haven't limited it to one transaction either. Stores may be limiting the amount you can buy, but it doesn't sound like the qualifying bars are being limited to 8000pts per transaction, no matter how many bars you buy (see other posts on this forum for verification).
I'm thinking there probably wasn't a mistake either. IF there was, they would have made a correction already. This past Monday at the latest (as it was the weekend).
As far as stores refusing to sell chocolate bars, report them to head office. There is absolutely NO reason for them to refuse a sale. They do not have control over how many points a person gets. What they do have control over is the limit to how many a person can buy. And feel free to tell them that you will be reporting it. To actually take merchandise out of a customer's hands/cart is disgraceful and a good way to lose customers.Last edited by luckbealady; Wed, Sep 12th, 2012 at 09:25 PM.

IDK why everyone is in a panic, if it was a mistake it would have been stopped by now.

just so Toronto Shoppers are aware... I went into 2 SDM today (for completely unrelated issues but did cruise by the chocolate section since I know there was a stir about this issue on here)
SDM on Bloor @ Spadina had no more bars out & they also had no signage and/or tags on the shelf for the promotion
SDM on Bloor between Delaware and Dovercourt (between Ossington and Dufferin subway stops) also didn't have any bars & no tag signage
cheers! Hope that saves some people the looking at these locations

The same thing happened at my shoppers I was in there today and almost all the sale tags were missing. I still bought some bars that had no sale tag and got the points. I went back there later they had no more bars but they put all the sale tags back up. I read another post and i think they are adjusting them for the lower price this weekend.Last edited by Tommycoupons; Wed, Sep 12th, 2012 at 10:53 PM.

You know, I'd say if anything this promo has shown Shoppper's HO that they need to keep a closer eye on their franchised stores. It sounds like quite a few stores (or perhaps it's just a handful, but that's still enough) have decided to do business in whatever way they please.
I hope these stores that are refusing to sell, or telling customers they can't earn points because it was a mistake, or perhaps taking the points promo out of their system (that's just my own conspiracy theory as to why some people might not be seeing points) are reported to HO. While stores may have the right to limit quantities per transaction/person, I highly doubt they are allowed to complete the practices they are doing right now.

I went to tonight and bought Ritz, the Ritz includes the peanut butter sandwich type (not the cheese) and the 60 percent less salt and regular. I bought enough to come out 1000 points ahead on my redemption. I donated some. I am not saying how many but why just get chocolate bars when you can do ritz. I got all the points. I did do eight chocolate bars but in my store there we no limits and they had some. All shelf tags were there and the employees laughed when I told them of everyones fears. The employees are like why would shoppers take points away they are selling the product. He then said do I think they thought the chocolate bars out. He said no. Gum and Ritz though are just a valuable.

I live in NW Ontario
lol come on down, we have 21 shopper's I believe, with 150+ bars at each
If I had a few bucks to spare, I could potentially clean them all out and be a shoppers optimum millionaire but..... I just want a few bars, I'm more interested in the crackers this weekend, plus my husband would have a baby cow if I came home with hundreds of bars. (he loves chocolate and I hate it lol) I'd wake up one morning to find his bloated chocolate covered body curled in the fetal position.

You just need about 8 bucks to get started or 8,000 points
..and you do it over and over again i.e just redeem the points ..get more BP ..and rinse and repeat.
My stores also have lots in stock , I bought 24 over the weekend , that's all I need and did 2 super $ 50 redemptions withe the BP..
..there were close to 400 bars at my store over the weekend , but didn't want to go overboard and do something just for the sake of it
They still have lots in stock , but I can't see any of the crackers anywhere
..I will probably get 12 of them ( crackers ) if they stock them at my nearest SDM
.. And not anymore than that
