Made our trip to Home Depot today and got all the supplies for DD's new bed - $400 later... But I'm sure all her little friends will be jealous when it's done. Heck even I'll be jealous. lol. I'll have to post a pic!

And as I was pulling away (DH & I took seperate vehicles) I ran over someone trim. OMG. The guy had 18foot trim on a tiny cart. I saw the cart and was about 5 feet away so I thought I had more than enough room to back up. NOPE! He had his trim hanging over so much it was right behind my van. CRAP! I felt horrible. I'm not sure why he didn't leave the trim at the pick up spot and drive up and get it?? Anyway, I went back in with him and explained what happened and they told him just to go get new stuff and they'd write it off. Phew! Still feel like a tool but really there was no way for me to see it.

So, now that we've unloaded all the supplies and the kids have had their nap we're just about to start construction. DH is just finishing cleaning the eaves. I washed all the outside windows while the kids were asleep.

Now we just have to close the pool and most of our winter prep is done.

I must have missed the plans for your DDs bed. What are you guys constructing?!

My Dad is super handy and when I was 14 he made me an amazing desk and matching bookshelf that are still in my office. Not only do they look great but they're solid wood and a great work-space. Not getting rid of those, ever! Even if I move across the country I will hold onto them at my parent's place until I can afford to ship them since they're really not replaceable pieces.

It's a bed on the bottom and a playhouse on top. All of the designs I looked at were bed on top but I had to switch it around because DD sleep walks sometimes. Hopefully it'll be fully finished by Thursday or Friday and I can post a pic then.

Another quick check in before making dinner. Why does it feel like midnight? lol. It's been such a long day!

Yeah, we started pricing out beds and DH decided he can make it much cheaper so he told me to tell him what I wanted so I decided to go full out and include a playhouse. lol. Can't wait for the finished product. DH is making it super sturdy so I might even sneak into the playhouse part on the rare occasion. lol. I would have loved something like this as a kid!
