Its because the general population (ESPECIALLY EVERYBODY POSTING IN THIS THREAD AND ON ) are stupid. Rather than keep these kind of promos to yourself, you all jump on the internet (including the SDM Facebook page itself) and brag about how cool you are to have figure out a points scheme. Do you think SDM is stupid? They certainly have staff reading these forums, so when you guys are bragging about how you are going to go clear the shelves because 9,000 pts are worth more than the $10 you are paying to get them, the guys at SDM headquarters are reading this, taking this to whoever is important, and right then and there they change the policy because they can.

Sorry you got sick. That means that the flu virus is already circulating around you. Your body did not have time to produce antibodies.

You made a good point though. It's best to get the flu shot as early as it becomes available, before a large number of people start to get sick.

The Shoppers promo department know what they re doing they create hype and that's means advertising and more sales or else they wouldn't keep doing these promo's, they advertise points and then have retractions time after time,mistake I think not.

Do not call people on this board stupid. We are clearly smarter than the people in SDM marketing. And unlike you, I for one do not have time to search through all the ads looking for these kinds of promos to keep to myself so I appreciate the dialogue that takes place here to alert me to great deals.

And I do believe that SDM is stupid. It's one thing to make a mistake but to make these bonus pt promo mistakes over and over again shows they do not have their act together. They are infuriating their customers who are unable to take advantage of promos because shelves are being cleared and instead of introducting limits to how many bonus pts their system will allow per card, they're freezing people's optimum accounts to make them call head office. Seriously, how stupid is that!

That's a pretty sweeping indictment of the intellectual capacity of both the general population and the SCers posting in this thread...I'm fairly confident not all of us are stupid. And I'm completely confident that name-calling on SC isn't tolerated.

I don't disagree with you that bragging about it is a bad call, but SDM has well-paid proof readers and marketing folks. If they're calling it an error now, whatever - but they should have caught it before it went to print. There's no excuse for that kind of "error", and SDM has a long history of doing this sort of thing.
