So I went to FreshCo. to do my shopping (had a great cashier who has now started couponing!). Packed my trunk full, went to return my cart in the outdoor cart area, reached for my quarter, then realized I hadn't used one. I remember telling myself - you didn't use a quarter so you can just leave. SO, I left to the next grocery store. Parked, reached for my purse - not there. Checked the trunk (fast), not there. *&%@*
Called my DH, told him to call FreshCo. and tell them I left my purse in the cart outside.
He called back (immediately) and said they have it in the cash office.
This was only a couple of minutes after I left. It's probably less than 2 km away.
I went quickly back.
Ran in, told security guard I lost my purse, he said it's upstairs. I asked who found it - he said he did. I said how did you find it so fast?!? He said - it's my job mam (how do you spell that?). I said it was outside - he said - it's my job to patrol the area.
So I got it back. Saw the cashier on the way out - she said - when I saw the flyers inside, I knew it was yours.
For once I had cash in my purse (had just done a return). Gave security guard $25. He said - you don't have to pay me for doing my job. Would have given much more if I'd had it!!!!!!
SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!!!!!
Yes, my coupon folder was in there too.
I know you will all understand! This thread is currently associated with: FreshCo

That just shows there are lots of good people around us still.....i am glad you found your bag. and your coupon binder toooooo
DH lost his purse at Food basics a couple of months ago and similary informed me to call the store as soon as he found out. I called and they were not very helpful to be honest. Just said we have not yet found anything. DH reached back to the store within 15 minutes but we never found it. Had to report the cards stolen

A few years ago I lost my purse at university. I must have picked up my school bag and gone into the classroom, and forgot my purse on the couch that I was sitting on. I didn't know until after the class, when I went to get my car keys out. I immediately walked over to the security/police area and just as I was reporting it someone else walked in with it. Nothing was missing - cards, keys, wallet, etc were all still in there. I didn't have any cash at the time, but I got the names and phone numbers of the people that found it. A few days later I took them out for a beer. They turned out to be pretty good friends.

Oh boy what a relief, I would have had a heart attack!!! I hope you hugged that security guard!
I never found anyone's wallet or purse but I did find a cell phone in the parking lot of a mall once. I started going through the numbers to see if there was a "home" I could call. So I am scrolling through the numbers almost to the end and I see MY NUMBER!!! It was my friends phone, we had just had breakfast at the restaurant in the mall and they left before me. Weird.

Patty that is weird karma!!
Armygirl - too funny!! I guess you know who I mean. I had just gone up to the Food Basics on St. Laurent. Can you believe they found it and took it upstairs before I could start my way back!!
I have had my purse stolen before and know what a pain it is to replace everything. Still sooooo happy!!
