Today marks the 10th anniversary of my Mother's passing. I miss her warmth & presence more & more. I even miss her unwelcomed advice & opinions. There will always be an empty space in me that only she could fill. She was funny, very sentimental, a not so great cook, a fabulous dancer, an animal lover & she was my Momma! I never realized how brave she was until I started living some of the experiences she endured. Some of my favourite memories of her were at our family cottage. She taught me to to swim & used to blow up those stinky old air mattresses so I could float around on a lazy summer day.

Love you Mom....always & forever.

It's a cheetah. The black lines under the eyes are to reduce glare from the sun, because they are day time hunter. And they purr! At least, when I petted it...

When we were doing our safari, the driver always had a rifle. Thank goodness the kitty didn't do anything stupid.

I know how you feel Loocie. It's been about 20 years that my mom has been gone, she passed away in November and x-mas wasn't very merry that year She was the best - always there to support me or to listen, we were like very good friends, would talk for hours about everything, my friends all liked her too - she was so open minded. Always there for me.....even after I moved out I would always make sure I'd visit once a week or she would come to my place or we'd go shopping and after the mall closed we'd sit in a restaurant and keep talking.....

I still miss you mom...........and will love you forever!

Tonight, I would like to say "Thank goodness for Smoke Detectors"!!!!

Our whole family was eating dinner tonight when one of the smoke detectors went off.... my first thought that it was the one in our main hallway outside the kitchen that often goes off when I have the oven on but I didn't use the oven tonight....

We all ran upstairs and I could smell something burning in my son's room... he immediately unplugged his computer (that he just re-built a few nights ago) but we couldn't find where the "burn" smell was coming from... hubby noticed that there was a light bulb off in the ceiling fan light and we noticed that the light bulb literally started burning... (it was one of those curly florescent bulbs)....

Years ago, when our kids were little, we went to a "fire awareness" presentation (I think at their school) and they recommended a smoke detector in every bedroom in addition to one on each floor... Since then, we have followed their recommendations, and tonight, I am so thankful that we did....

I am soooo Glad that the Wisdom from the Past Mingled with the Experience of Today!!!!

Strange... This made me Realize that it has been 675x Days (1x Year, 10x Months, 6x Days).

Heading out to a x-mas thingie, but I'm very tired - didn't sleep much last night and I've been running around downtown since 9 a.m. I want to go but feel so crappy from lack of sleep. I'll go anyway cause I said I would and don't like to back out of plans. See you all later.
