she was the one who put the call through to the nurse who gave out the info. she didn't even give out the info herself!

what a disaster of a situation for everyone involved. her poor, poor children losing their mother.

the dj's were crying in their interview, but honestly they just look like they are scared of being charged with her death. they were having too good a time when pulling the prank to actually be remorseful. they are just scared of getting in trouble.

Not their fault she made the decision that she did. Sure it is sad but the hospital should have known people would try this. They need better security in place.

I completely agree with this,and was irritated how they said it was the radio station execs who made the decision to air the call (still doesn't make the DJs innocent)

I'm not at all saying they could foresee she would end up taking her life after their prank... but at the very least they knew someone could lose their job if the prank was successful and confidential patient information was given out. Why on earth would anyone find it funny to do that to someone? A complete stranger, who you've never met and who has done nothing to you?

There was a Mass at Westminister Catheral for Jancintha today

Jacintha Saldanha, 46, was found dead in accommodation attached to King Edward VII hospital last week.
Her husband, Benedict, daughter Lisha, 14, and son Junal, 16, attended a Mass at Westminster Cathedral.
In a joint tribute the children said: "We are shattered and there's an unfillable void in our lives."
"The house is an empty dwelling without your presence," they added.
Catholics can request that a Mass be offered in the name of a dead person.

Most Catholics I know have a very good sence of humour so I don't know why you keep harping upon her religion. Likewise I've worked with people from various parts of the Indian sub-continent and all of those had differing cultures and a very broad sense of what is funny...so I don't know why you keep muttering about her culture.

Unless you know each and every Catholic and each and every Indian, then how on Earth can you keep blaming such a nebulous set of non-sequiters for this lady's tragic death.

While there was a lot more to this than a prank, I'm not blaming her Catholism nor her culture as part of the reason for her committing a mortal sin against her God.

Catholic funeral of Jacintha Saldaha takes place in Catholic church in India

The funeral of a nurse who apparently killed herself following a royal hoax call in London is taking place in her Indian hometown.
Jacintha Saldanha, 46, is being buried at a church in Shirva, just outside Mangalore on the south-west Indian coast.

Royal nurse "blamed djs for her death"

Mrs Saldhana expressed "deep anger" at the Australian pair, the Mail on Sunday said. She wrote in one of three suicide notes that she held the DJs responsible for her death.

A second note criticised two members of staff at the hospital, it has been reported.

One of the DJs had telephoned the hospital back within an hour of the original hoax call and spoke to Mrs Saldanha again, telling her they had played a prank which they were about to broadcast.

Mother-of-two Jacintha Saldanha, 46, was found hanging in her nurses' quarters at London's King Edward VII's Hospital by a colleague and a security guard on December 7.
