    It's snowing again!!!

Wow, I think we've had more snow in the last week than we did all last winter. lol.

Done 3 loads of laundry but I think I have at least 5 more. I totally slacked doing laundry for awhile. lol. Good thing we all have lots of clothes (well, good and bad I guess).

I hate it when I back off on the laundry, it's one thing that stacks up so fast. I'm always amazed at just how much laundry two people can accumlate. I have a stacking washer and dryer in our rv, but it's smaller that the normal ones for houses. I can fit about 4 pair of jeans in the washer. The dryer is a bit bigger, but not by much. I always try and put in a load as soon as there is one, if I let it stack up, for some reason it seems to take forever, and if it's the day I'm changing the sheets, forget it, I feel I'll never get through it all.

I try not to put off housework period over the holidays, but it always seems to happen.

Today, dh and I are off to a flea market in Donna. It's a large one, so hopefully we will find some treasures.

    Poppin' in with a hi!

Busy bees here so far... unlike me, my back is out of sorts again. Drat! Really don't know what sets it off, can't be anything major - no twists, falls, or anything like that, just no explanation except I'm not very impressed...

So I don't foresee doing much of anything this weekend, bummer!

Hope you all have a FAB day!

I am trying to use up all the food in the house-freezers,pantry and fridge. Thought that I would need to go buy some items to make meals but I have not had to buy anything!! I will need to buy items for DS1 b day party on the 3rd ....maybe I will try to make it till then! I would love to unplug our big freezer. I know people love their freezers and they are always taking about them saving them money. But for me, we hate eating frozen stuff! So it just sits there until I throw it out! What a waste This year I am going to keep the freezer off and buy fresh food 2 times a week instead ($100 a week). Will buy only chicken, rice milk, some cheese (kids),fresh fruit and veggies, eggs, oil (I have atleast a yr of this already!), fresh herbs, bread (kids), gf pasta, brown rice and herbal teas. Things I am not buying anymore of:pop, juice, chips, milk, peanut butter, crackers, ice cream, lots of cheese, butter, frozen anything, coffee (we have tons), beef, pork, fish, bake goods, dips and I am sure tons more!!!
I am hoping this will boost everyone,s immune systems and we will lose some weight

No milk? That would not go well in our house! The kids love their milk. We go through 6-9 bags a week.

But I hear you about the freezer. I'll only buy certain foods to deep freeze, otherwise they do get thrown out. A small meat stash is all we need.

I often wonder how many people are in the house when I see stockpile pics. Who uses that much stuff? lol

No one in our house drinks it. I buy it and throw out 99% of it They will drink coconut and rice milk. They watched this docu on milk and now they call it cow puss! Lol
I think I may keep a few things of chicken and frozen veggies as emergencies too.
I could never stock pile food...such a waste for us.

We only stockpile a bit of dry food like rice/pasta. Paper products on the other hand, that's a whole other story.

45 loads a month? I'd hate to have to pay your electric bill, never mind the cost of the laundry supplies, even with coupons! My good lord girl

I stockpile more paper goods than food. I usually stockpile about 8-10 packs of TP (24 packs), 6-8 packs of the facial tissue (6 packs) and 3 of the paper towel (6 packs).

We just dont eat enough dry food to warrant stockpiling. Our regular panty is all we have and for us it's MORE than enough for awhile (usually about 6-7 boxes of each cereal, crackers, cookies, granola bars and misc. lunch treats and then 10-12 of each canned food, there's usually a couple bags of chips/nachos in there too).

We eat a lot of fresh fruits and veggies so dry foods last quite a while. Even with only 6-7 boxes of crackers on hand, they dont always get eaten by the expiry date (which I find is usually only 2-3 months).

I'm in awe of some people's stockpiles. Non-food items I get it and I'm jealous! But that much food? I saw one awhile back and they had something like 200 boxes of crackers, 200 boxes of cereal and like 500 cans of beans! Now that's a whole lot of food. lol

I use my freezer (the one attached to the fridge) a lot. When I bake bread, I bake several loaves at once, and since it doesn't keep well, I freeze it. I also make bran muffins for dh every few weeks, in large batches and freeze then as well. I will buy extra chicken, or salmon fillets when they are on sale, I have a machine that sucks out all the air from the package, then I freeze it too. I also make perogies (for dh) and cabbage rolls in large batches and freeze that too.....hmmmm, guess I actually use my freezer a lot.

There are only the 2 of us, but everything is rotated and used up within 2 weeks, so I don't mind. We purchase fresh fruits and veggies usually every few days, so most everything in the fridge is fresh, and we're not ones for any type of premade frozen foods. I tried fish fillets, and those Janes chicken thingy's but they're not for us. I prefer fresh made. But I guess the fact that I love to cook is factored into it too.

    I agree!

With the 2 kids (drool and potty accidents) and DH's work clothes I thought I did a lot of laundry with about 5 loads a week. I haven't did laundry in about 3 weeks so I've done 8 loads today, 4 yesterday and I think I have maybe 4-5 more tomorrow.

    I couldn't imagine doing 45 loads a month! EEEEP.

Maybe it's time for the extra capacity size? I splurged for that kind when we got the new front loaders and I love them! They do almost double what my old crappy set did.
