We have a bernie in the oven right now we hope, we haven't heard otherwise. I cannot wait to meet/see our new baby.
We plan on breeding her once, and keeping one puppy, and then doing the same over and over until we have a housefull and will never be without Berner love again. I cry everyday for my Zoe.

Here is a pic a lady in one of the berner groups on FB that I look at posted, I think 3 are her own, a couple are rescues and she also operates a Berner Hotel.


There is supposed to be a Berner get together in Toronto this Sunday afternoon, this is organized through the same group - they are expecting 32 Berners.

I would love to have a houseful of Bernie's too they are beautiful. I am crossing my fingers for you getting your pup soon.

was hoping to get my buddies package out today but no joy. Issues at my daughters school meant I had to email teacher and concerned parents - there is a male child in her class(grade1 = 6/7yrs old) saying things that NO child should say (Daddy comes into my room at night and does.... kinds of things). Effing disturbing at the very least. So maybe tomorrow instead. I'm too cold to leave the house - 3 layers on - looking out the window at the fresh snow -wondering if I just leave it that maybe hubby would shovel it? hahaha what am I thinking? not going to happen <pouting, going to shovel>

Thanks for the suggestion. I have a Tranquil Turtle for her (and I think someone's also bought her a frog...just don't know which box it's in). I've started putting her in her crib and turning it on while I do stuff and she seems to like it so I'm hopeful!

Hi Ladies... today was spent doing laundry(I took it to the laundry mat to save time/money/etc), picking up our doggies from the kennel, going for groceries and playing pool. I'm exhausted. LOL!!! Its not that bad... just a very busy day after spending 7 days not doing anything like that.

R&R day around here today. We finally finished the loft, and got a couple other projects finished too, so we are taking a day off. DH and I are bundling the little kiddo up and taking her and the dog on a long walk, we got new snowshoes for Christmas and want to try them out. Tomorrow DH works, and the oldest kiddo has a birthday party to attend, so I will have the car. I think I am going to mail my buddy's package while I am out. I need to re-pack it/find a bigger box, I keep finding more things to add.

Buddy - I have a problem...I need to find another box this one's super tight and I have your home made item left to put in...maybe it will fill in the cracks...we'll see because it's gotta go out today!

Has anyone used diaper or wipes boxes before? Do you need to wrap them first? Or do you just tape paper on and address it? Oh the options!

i just put the finishing touches on my buddy's craft, so I will pack everything up today. Will probably mail Monday though, will have to see.

i have used both wipes & diaper boxes, you don't have to wrap them although I do just because I'm anal lol

Although I 'liked' it - not TGIF here, I work nightshift all weekend but it's too freakin cold do to anything else here so I may as well work all night and sleep all day. Our furnace keeps cutting out and we woke up to a 10c house this morning. Then the car wouldn't start, battery dead as a nit. Will see if it starts later but might have to dip into my Berner Fund for a new one gotta have wheels, we are fortunate that we can use my fil's lil car in the mean time. The weather is supposed to warm up to -7 on the weekend so we will see.
Kids have exams all next week so they SHOULD be studying all weekend. Hubby said he is going to try making bread from scratch this weekend, he is making biscuits and fish cakes today. Fishcakes - blech, biscuits - yum and worth all of the 5 points they are on WW.

I am having a lazy day today, slept in this morning, lazing in my chair with 2 blankets on me now and napping a bit later.

Brrrrr.....hopefully your furnace can be fixed soon! And car too!

I have all 3 kids today because today's is PA Day! We had a bit of a bumpy start this morning but overall the day hasn't been too bad so far!

heres a list of the day's events, in order (because I know you are all dying to know )

1) DD threw up her breakfast all over herself and the floor (not from being sick, she still has a strong gag reflex)

2) the girl I watch deliberately broke DD doctor kit box

3) she also told several obvious lies

4) we made pita pizzas for lunch and it went over well

5) made jello for dessert (which I haven't had in years) also went over well

6) DD pull-up leaked while she was the couch - luckily I have a couch cover, for just such a purpose! I was going to take it off afterwards, but then I thought that with 3 kids it was going be a bad idea to do so, which proved accurate.....

7) DD spilled her chocolate milk on the couch (about 10 mins after #6)

And that leaves us at 2pm.

As requested here is a pic of the girls new room. Still need to finish hanging pictures on the sloped walls. Also a few things to finish in the spring -we are replacing the window (actually that whole wall will be gone -we're putting in a wall of windows) so not much point in painting it, also pulling the old wood stove pipe out of the roof (now covered by pink hanging organizer) when the solar panels go up. Also hope to pull up the floor and put down laminate at some point this summer. But for the moment it is done, and everyone is happy with it
I'll try to find a before picture -it was very VERY 70's (the whole house was 70's before we started renovating/decorating) dark brown wood paneling, gold curtains, dark brown and yellow (yes yellow!) trim and big flower wall paper on the back wall....very scary! LOL



it's been a fun day here...went for a long hike with the snow shoes down the lake shore, we've got lots of snow and built up ice so it was a good trip. DD had fun being pulled behind the the sled.

Managed to find a bigger box for my buddy's gift -so while DD & DH play outside I am going to attempt to pack it again If all goes well I might even make it to the post office today
