morning ladies!!!! a question completely unrelated to the train. I think that the wee man is colicky. he has started screaming fits late in the day and goes for a couple of hours. we have tried everything to settle/calm him. anyone have any suggestions that may have worked with yours? i am willing to try anything.

DD wasn't colicky per se but she did have lots of gas, I found Kolik Drops worked really well.

Trust me!!!! As a born and bred Albertan, that has lives in the country next to an area that has a good population of both, bears and cougars. I have only ever seen a cougar once in my life. Bears I have seen a few more of only because I was out hunting in an area that has the highest bear population per sq kilo in Alberta and it is no where near Calgary. I always tell my kids to be scared of the neighbors dogs, or the deer and moose the roam through our yard, those we are daily

I have lived in Alberta all my life and never seen a cougar except in a Zoo and bears maybe in the mountians but I have never seen one of those in Calgary. I live in the middle of nowhere now and no bears. I think you probably are more likely to get hit by lightning than attacked by a bear or cougar. I hope that doesnt give you a fear of lightning lol

I grew up in BC on Vancouver Island and we used to have 'cougar drills' at school, we had a covered area that could be closed in for recess when there were cougars near the school. My only run in with a cougar was while running down our long tree lined driveway when I was about 15 and when I got in the house the phone was ringing and it was my neighbor calling to tell me/parents that there was a cougar up in one of the trees along the driveway - never even seen him there. I think bears and cougars are a lot like most animals and keep to themselves unless provoked.

I guess I am up for the day, not a bad sleep this morning. Have a GG area meeting tonight so supper will be on the fly, getting picked up at 5:30 to head over to Mich649's neck of the woods.

LOL Armygirl is right..... If you stay away from their home turf and aren't out looking for them, your chances are better about being abducted by aliens then being attacked by a cougar or bear.

Personally, I love watching a bear in the wild. You think dogs and cats are fun to watch playing and their antics, you should watch a fat old bear play. Just respect them and don't scare them, they will leave you alone,

I have seen bears in the states on the side of the highway from the safety of a car. And once when hiking in Algonquin and live to tell about it. But ya, still scared. Anything that could possibly mistake me or DD for food scares me.

Only bears I've seen were black bears when visiting my grandparents and polar bears when I lived in Churchill, they had polar bear drills there, what to do if you see one wandering through town. I can remember my dad stopping the truck to go take a pic of one down eating a seal and coming running back up yelling "start the car!" as another one came wandering along behind him. Luckily it wasn't hungry... I think no matter where you live there is something to be afraid of. Except Ottawa, nothing scary here but the politicians
