Yup, it's been making the news for a while! A man in Australia measured his sub with a tape measure, and posted a picture online of it measuring only 11-inches rather than a foot. It went viral, and other customers began noticing the same thing. There have been multiple lawsuits launched in the US.

Thanks for the heads up, couponlady! Raising their prices a little while back didn't sit too well with a lot of people - no more "five-dollar-footlongs" was just wrong Of course, you might not really be getting a footlong...more like a footlong less an inch.

I loved when in Qc they had the promo 1 variety per day at 5$.They removed and I was deceived..I loved the Turkey and Chicken one(Sunday). Hope it will be back soon

My DH works in a building with a subway, they said the may be switching to small and large subs because of the lawsuits! They are footlong before they cook, some shrink! Some people have too much time!

My subway uses a sheet/pan to make them actually.

Its like a silicone mold sheet. So you plop the dough into the mold and then when its done baking you just push the outside of the mold in and the bread pops out.

DH and I used to love eating there, so cheap for fast food but we've really cut back and haven't had Subway in so long I can't even remember. But we used to always get two footlong cold cut combos for $5 each. Think it was $11.20 or something after tax.

It’s great to have back, but our Canadian $5 dollar foot long promotion just absolutely sucks in comparison to the USA Subway promo. We get a selection of 5 not so great options, and the USA has a choice of 24 GREAT subs for $5. We get seriously ripped in Canada.

Going to the states tomorrow for a few days to pick up some shoes and stuff for $120 less per pair(yes $120 less each compared to here) and will defiantly get some good $5 dollar foot longs there, mmmm maybe the Buffalo Roasted Chicken, or for $6 the Chicken Bacon & Ranch Melt..........
