I'm joining the corner too if that's ok. I stayed in my pajamas and drank tea all day. took some days off work to be with my family.
so...long story short..on top of my own health issues and this drastic change in diet (no wheat, rice, soy, or dairy!) yesterday my sister got some really bad news too. she has been trying to have a baby for a long time. years and years. and they've been through a bunch of different treatments that have been crazy expensive. a few weeks ago she started one of the processes again and today she found out that the results were still negative. she's devastated. our family is very loving and supportive but...there's just not much we can do. no words of comfort. just need to do whatever we can. so my sister and I took a few days off from work and we're going to just sit with her and cry with her on the couch until she's ready to talk about it all.
thankfully, I've completed all my shopping for my buddy so I may finish up the craft and send it off soon. is there an early mail date? I just don't want to miss it and I think I'll be spending most of my time these next few days with my sister.
thanks again for all the support ladies. I have had so many friends struggle with wanting to have a baby but not...but when it comes to family, it's just so hard to see them so sad. it's nice to come here and be somewhat anonymous. we want to keep a lot of it private among our close family and friends so we can't tell a lot of people but it's nice that I can come here and talk about it.
now this west coast gal is heading to bed after just feeling...numb with sadness all day...I'll wake up in the morning and check in with you all again. =)

Big hugs to you Dlee. I'm happy you are able to be there for your sister.
Pumpkin my dearest little boy was very mouthy and rude yesterday and refused to do his chores so I grounded him to his room until he decided to do his chores. My husband came home just as I was leaving for boot camp so I told him what was going on and I left. When I got home they were both gone to karate class and the chores were still not done GRRRRR How am I supposed to teach that boy anything if he's just going to get his way when daddy gets home!!

Dlee - infertility sucks. I know a lot of women who struggle with it, some who can't afford the treatments and it's sad. Makes me feel so grateful for my little boy. Good for you being there for your sister. I hope she's able to come to terms with whatever she needs to do and able to move on.
Slambert - this is why I'm often glad I'm a single mom
No one for the boy to run to for a second opinion on punishments or chores, bedtimes or anything else lol.
I wish I had time to go hide in the corner with ya'll. I should be getting more done at home, packing and whatnot. Movers come in a week! well a week tomorrow. I packed one box last night... next Wednesday night is going to be an all nighter lol.
I can't wait to see the pantaloons start coming. Should be after my move I think, so I'll have time (you know, since unpacking will go faster than packing... right????)

Dlee, you are a wonderful sister!!!!
This morning I woke up feeling not quite so itchy and not nearly as swollen or red, so I am crossing my fingers that the new meds are actually trying to start working.
Still haven't got an update on Tyler yet, so I am crossing my fingers, no news is good news.
Thanks for letting me hide in the corner last night, I needed it, now to make today a better day and relax to get the nerves under control. My blood pressure can't handle that much stress at once, so Thanks to Julsie pie, I am grabbing coffee and headed for the hospital. See all you lovely ladies later and thank you.

I really need to buckle down and think up an awesome craft.... from the posts, I think some of you are going to have amazing pantaloons arriving! I am apologizing to my buddy in advance for my lack of creativity.. apparently, it has gone to the same place my memory, and my youthful figure have gone...
Ok, I'm slinking into the corner now too....

Dlee - *BIG HUGS* what a hard situation to go through and i'm glad you can be there for your sister. one of my best friends has had a rough two years with trying to get pregnant, two miscarriages, complications with those miscarriages that has led her to California TWICE for expensive surgeries....
of course she's happy for me, but it's hard for her to come visit me when I have a toddler and another one on the way, which i completely understand.
Hmm........once again, another example for those of you wondering why your mail is taking so long some days: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...uck-river.html
Uh oh... LOL and unfortunately it puts "Jamie Davis" into a bad light sort of, because he's pretty much refusing to do the job because he won't make enough money. They have been filming Season 2 of "Highway Thru Hell" through this winter. And actually.....they've filmed a few scenes with a couple of the guys in our bar!! :D Whoknows if it'll make it into the episodes final cuts, but still neat to have film crews in our bar. One of the guys, "Ken", stays at our hotel through the winter when he's working up here and the Jamie Davis crew have been coming to our bar and liquor store for years.
Anyways, gotta get ready for work. Hope everyone has a good day.

Pumpkin, I'm sorry I didn't update! I'm having a not so good week either =( We didn't end up putting the offer in because luckily, we found out that there was an active railway track right behind the backyard! BAH!!!!! We were thinking that if we got it, that re-sale value would be low or that we'd have a hard time selling it even though the house itself was gorgeous, island in the kitchen, 4 big bedrooms, hardwood flooring, finished open space entertainment basement, a built-in stockpile closet!!!!!! for my couponing stockpile of items (this made me the saddest that I wouldn't get this)... and even a pool! But DH and I just couldn't get it because it was already so expensive and we were going to blow our budget anyways... finding out there was a railway track behind the house (how the heck did we miss this?) was devasting. So I guess we're stuck living with my mom still.... I swear, looking for our own house for 4 yrs now and I'm starting to think we're just picky or it wasn't meant to be. DH has a co-worker who lives on the other side of the these tracks and he says that he gets vibrations in his house and noise but eventually he got used to it. I don't want to get used to it, so overall it was a no-go for us =( Oh well, the search continues...
I'm so sorry to hear about everything going wrong. Thank goodness we have a carbon monoxide detector. It really is a good investment and gives us peace of mind. Cuz remember carbon monoxide cannot be seen and has no visible odour. Sometimes the symptoms alone may detect it (headaches, dizziness, etc) but by then it may be too late. I'm glad
your DH's best friend & his family are ok.Last edited by juliejolie; Wed, Feb 27th, 2013 at 11:34 AM.

Dlee, I'm sorry to hear your sister is going through so much sadness... Nobody knows this (not even my mom or rest of the family... as I think my mom would freak because she's such a traditional Chinese woman) aside from my best friend but I also had infertility for 2.5 years before we sought help and got IUI. It was the least expensive option and we just couldn't wait any longer. I had taken chinese herbs, done acupuncture, lost weight, gone on clomid, done countless tests, got probed and tested like a lab rat, and everything came back that I was fine. I was having my periods, DH's sperm count was normal, we were both young, etc... so nobody knew what was going on. Finally, my gyno referred us to a wonderful clinic and they monitored me and it just so happened that the first round was successful! I got pregnant right away and the rest is history. Now I have my sweet little girl whose almost 15 months. She's our miracle and I don't regret doing anything, even though some may have thought I was rushing and that waiting 2.5 years after trying wasn't long at all... we don't care. It was the right time for us. But I recall sitting in the waiting room at the clinic waiting to see the doctor at the clinic, we heard and that there were other couples around me who had been trying with assistance for years (some were on their 10th IUI, others on their 6th IVF, etc) and nothing... when I had to come back to the clinic to get monitored with u/s for my pregnancy the first 3 months before I got released into my ob/gyn's care... I couldn't help but weep in sadness for the other couples who looked hopeless. I felt so guilty that we were blessed on our first try there... I still feel guilty sometimes.
But DH and I talked and we hope to add to our family. If it comes to the point that we are struggling again, then I'm glad we know what to do and where to go. We're hoping my ob/gyn is right though and he thinks that my body will get reset itself and I'll be able to get pregnant naturally on my own after having given birth to DD. We'll see... Now I see so many of my friends and co-workers struggling but unless they ask me and I'm close to them, DH and I prefer not to talk about it because we can't help but be embarrased... why is that? =(
Sorry for the rambling!... Dlee, give your sister space.. and when she's ready to talk, love her/comfort her/support her and maybe if she wants, help her look into other options whatever they may be and whatever she's comfortable with. Time will come and she will be blessed one day, I believe... whatever options she seeks. Everyone has a right to be a parent.Last edited by juliejolie; Wed, Feb 27th, 2013 at 11:41 AM.

The definition of THE CORNER.... a safe warm place that welcomes everyone. You can be happy or sad or angry. You will never be judged or shunned. In the corner you will always feel health, strong and loved. The company is wonderful the drinks flow freely and the food is calorie and fat free. You can stay for just a moment or hang out forever. You never have to worry about being shy or scared. There is always binkies or blankies, klennex or a good joke, hugs punching bags. Superhero caps are there to borrow and are filled with all the strenghth of the previous wearer to get you through. DH (DBF) are not allowed they are doing chores!..........But really this is just the definition of a pkg train. Love you all Hugs to all that are feeling low, life stinks sometimes but it helps us to value the good times. Oh and kiss a pug on the lips it helps I swear that why I am so crazy.
