    I have this one and it's a great ereader. There is a SD slot so you could put in tons of books like me, over 1000 ebooks, lol.

    I also have this leather case. Of course I didn't pay this price, found it dirt cheap on the liquidation table.

    Have been window shopping for one of these also and would want one that will allow me to borrow books from the library also,that blackberry playbook is interesting thanks for all the Qs&As.

    thinking cap on lol: now is there a reader out there that does kobo,kindle and library books? large fonts yup need those also.

    This was a gift for Christmas, so in the end I gave her $$ to buy her own and she ended up buying a Kindle.

    the price of the kobo has come down in price...
    when i got my touch, dh paid $140 for it.. you can get it for $100 now..
    or you can get a mini for $80.. they were also on sale during christmas for $50

    the kindle will not let you check out library books as far as i know (unless it's a change to the the most recent one, as far as i know you cannot put books from any sources but amazon on it-so if you find a book half the price at chapters online it will not work on a kindle) i've heard a few people say the Kobo isn't the most stable (it has some quirks to it on occasion) i'm a HUGE fan of the Sony Ereader very stable, you can do basic internet surfing/wifi, in the 5ish years that i've had mine i've never had it crash or need to reset it, it will also allow you to check out library books, downloadable books, PDFs, epubs, adjust text size(many different text sizes) touch screen, built in dictionaries.. it used e-ink technology which means the screen produces no light and uses very little power making it much easier on the eyes vrs reading off a tablet

    Yes, that's right, no library books with Kindle in Canada (although you can in the US). It has something to do with licensing as I understand. There is a free software that will convert books from different formats, called Calibre.

    I just "bought" a Kobo mini on Friday. I redeemed Optimum points at SDM on Friday evening during the bonus redemption and got this week's flyer sale price for it. It's on for $69.99 this week at SDM. Regular price at Chapters is $79.99, but apparently was on sale for $49.99 before Christmas and again after. But for me, $69.99 of Optimum points, making it "free" was better than $50 of cash OOP

    I'm already loving the Kobo. I read outside a lot, so I have one with the e-ink screen that won't have any glare. And I'm planning to use the library for books, as well as buying books. I already buy printed books, so the ebooks will be cheaper and will lead to less clutter.

    My sister has had Kobos now for 3 years and loves hers (she has 2 different types, one that is like a tablet). She chose Kobo over Kindle for the ability to use library books.

    The bad news is, e-books are really not any cheaper than paper books, at least not new releases. Good for you for getting the reader for free though!
