Great, glass in foot (thanks, did soak in salt water, stung like a bleep, but it worked!!!), got a call that my MIL is in the hospital - they are doing a CT scan, and now THIS.

Oh and it's my sister's birthday. She's 28 and hates her life. How am I supposed to celebrate THAT?

I'm glad it worked. I was painting on a glass ball Christmas ornament one year and it broke in my hand and what felt like thousands of little glass splinters went into my hand...that's what my MIL told me to do and it worked..but yup hurts like a bleep!!

So you would like to think. Most animals are given growth hormones, just like any antibiotic or drug its going to be present in the milk and in the meat. LARGE amounts of growth hormones in foods are illegal but because they are trace amounts they are passable. Many can say that these amounta have no effect on your body but I'm sorry I refuse to believe that. 2% milk contains about 4 times the amount of sodium than breastmilk does. Skim milk is even worse. They use sodium tripolyphosphate to help keep the milk stable, they use this chemical in a variety of foods luke red meats and seafoods because of its ability to preserve foods longer. Eg:: seafood is one ita commonly used on to help keep the fiah looking and smelling fresh on its journey from the coast to say MB or AB. Its not freah fish at all!!! STPP is also commonly used in detergents AND cleaning products.

Salt is added to cow's milk to inhibit bacterial and mould growth. It's a common practice.

In Canada, growth hormones are not permitted to be given to dairy cows. They ARE given to beef cows though. So you can eat a cow injected with growth hormone, but you can drink cow's milk "safely" knowing that there is no growth hormone given.

That cow, however, CAN be given antibiotics, which can then be present in the milk.

In the US, growth hormones are legally given to both beef and dairy cattle.

And skim milk has more sugar than 2% milk. Go figure, LOL.

Milk is just not necessary! My boys get calcium from veggies (dark leafy greens are packed with calcium). We use almond milk for cereal rather than soy though. Plant estrogens are not the best for boys LOL plus my cancer is estrogen dependant, so I can't have soy anything.

I agree. We went milk free for my son and I wished I did for my daughter. But more and more is known now then ever before. My kids DO have a great diet and get the minerals and vitamins from their food. Other than a Vitamin D supplement and a couple of others, they are golden.

I have been on the NO SOY bandwagon for 15 years and people thought I was a quack then. Not so much now! The proof is in estrogen-induced cancers (which are on a dramatic increase) and the emasculation of boys (now more directly linked to phytoestrogens).

I`m sorry about your cancer. Are you in remission or in treatment. And I`m sorry if I`m being nosey!

KK7 - Thanks for the link for the bagel coupon

Hijinx - Glad you got the glass out! That's never fun

Trinimoneysaver - LOL! Are you going to take a video like that too?

All this talk about milk has got me thinkin about whether or not to give it to DS. I hate white milk myself...have never really liked it (unless it's chocolate of course, lol). I've never tried Almond milk...want to though, I was gonna buy some today and try it...should've! I know I would get a lottttt of criticism from family if I wanted to give him almond milk though...especially Gma. She's a crazy portuguese lady and will definately tell you how to do things "properly"!!! I'm definately curious about it now though so thanks for mentioning it!

P.S. I hate touch keyboards too!! Drives me nuts.
