What a neat idea.
It is not how much we have, but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness.

I have found it a really helpful forum for locating and obtaining the unusual heirloom tomatoes and beans I've been looking for.

Great Site. I actually came across it today, trying to find information on what alyssum seeds look like. I didn't notice that it had a seed/plant exchange nor that it had one especially for Canada!
I have just started saving my seeds last year, and will be checking this site more closely! Thanks! The most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles, apparently doing nothing." --Helen Dillon

Wow - Christmas in May yesterday! A lady who had free heirloom tomato seeds to offer not only sent me 12 varieties of tomato but also several flower seeds as well, including a cool red sunflower I'd never seen before. What a treat for two stamps! Can't wait to get planting...
Unique items and great deals to be found on the Halifax Cat Rescue Society auction page.

I found this link today that has a list of seed libraries - the Canadian ones are listed towards the bottom of the page.
http://www.richmondgrowsseeds.org/sister-libraries.html
I am not sure how often the list is updated, but it seems like a great resource! Not included yet is the new seed library on the agricultural campus (Truro) of Dalhousie University (Halifax) in Nova Scotia:

For those wishing to trade heirloom and open-pollinated seeds this fall, the 4th Annual Canadian Autumn Seed Exchange has been announced.
Though heirlooms are strongly favoured, commercial hybrid seed can be submitted for trade as long as it is in the original packaging, or is taken from a new package and is clearly labeled.
Details are posted on Gardenweb, Folia, and can also be found here: http://nickysgarden.wordpress.com/2014/10/03/4th-annual-canadian-autumn-seed-exchange/

Hi @Redneck Charger - Thank you for the rep! This Canadian seed trading forum still exists. The entire website has changed in appearance recently, though, and I think you have to register to view it, reply to posts, and make trades
