Thread: Over 50% Savings at SDM!
-
Mon, Apr 22nd, 2013, 03:05 PM #1
So wanted to take advantage of the Spend $50 get $10 and redeem some greenworks coupons! And also take a break from studying for Finals
I am still too nervous going into stores to buy 10 of the same thing (although am wanting to snatch the free crest toothpaste at no frills this week...)
I bought..
2x Palmolive @.99
2x Greenworks @ 1.99 - 1.50 coupons = .98
Dempsters Whole Grain Bread @ 2.99 - 2.00 sdm peelie - 1.00 sdm peelie = FREE! (I think they made a mistake...
)
Villagio Bread @ 3.39 - 2.00 sdm peelie -1.00 sdm peelie = .39
2x Wheat Thins @ 1.88 - 2x .50 Wheat Thin tear pad coupons = 2.76
2x Gillette Mach 3 Razors 3 pack @ 5.99 - 2x 3.00 coupons = 5.98 (They were originally 11.98= 17.98 savings!
)
1x Dempsters Tortilla @ 2.99
1x Everyday Eggs @ 2.49
1x Schneiders Wieners @ 2.90
2x Alcan Foil @ .99= 1.98
2x Healthy Choice Frozen Entrees @ 2.99- 1x 2.99 B1G1 Coupon = 2.99
1x Kool Aid Jammers @ 1.49 (Bought one earlier this week at Freshco for 1.44 and thought that was a great deal!)
1x V8 Fusion Smoothie @ 2.25 Clearout - 1.00 Printed coupon =1.25
1x Kraft Peanut Butter @ 3.99
1x Armstrong Cheese @ 3.99- 1.00 Printed coupon = 2.99
And to bring my bill back above $50 (I thought the original total had to be $50 but apparently it still needs to be 50 after coupons...) so
1x Trojan condoms @ 16.99 = 16.99
HST @ 5.28
= 57.28 - my $10.00 SDM GC
Savings of 43.25
I bought a GC before my transaction to earn the 500 bonus points
and received 830 on my bill. Too bad there werent any 10x products today!
Now back to study for exams.

You did great, especially with the bread. You were right though the first time, your total before coupons has to be above $50, not after. Doesn't matter what your total after coupons is, could be $5 and your still entitled to the promo. Sdm needs to get their staff all on the same page cause it seems most don't know their own policy.

I thought it was 50 before, and tried to explain that to her. I think she was frustrated with the huge line forming and all of my coupons so I didnt want to argue with her too much. Oh well!

The total should be before coupon, however, any peelie from store manager would take off from that total, also use the $10 gift card from previous SDM promotion will also take off from your total. After all these were taken from your total before manufacture coupon, if you still have over $50, then you are qualified. Also, for the discount from store manager, like the bread, usually they clear once, thus, a $1 coupon on it, when they go further discount, a $2 coupon is on top of $1, technically cashier should only apply the latest discount instead of both.

"*Offer valid on the purchase total of $50 or more on eligible products after discounts and redemptions and before taxes"
I looked it up in the e mail I received... I suppose that means that the cashier was right about me having to actually spend 50 oop.

No the cashier was not right! I had to school one yesterday...it was kinda fun in an evil sorta way.
Wait for it.....here it comes.....see the screen where it says issue promo for the second time?!?!? Gimme my darn $10 and educate yourself! She also tried to tell me that milk would not be included in my $50....*facepalm*
That $6.00 Store Coupon entered as 2004 would have messed you up if your subtotal was not $56 but otherwise you would have been fine!

I actually just got off the phone with the head office.. they said that coupons are tender so she should have given it to me. My total was 56.15 before all my coupons (including that $6.00 2004 discount) so it would have been 50.15.
She said she would follow up with the store but other then that she was very sorry.
Im supposed to call head office during my transaction next time if it happens again- do you know how angry the cashier and people behind me would be?! no thanks!
