This story is very scary and should be a lesson to anyone selling stuff online! Never go anywhere alone !
http://globalnews.ca/news/545030/man...-truck-buyers/
The missing man, identified as Tim Bosma, went missing just after 9 p.m. on Monday night from outside of his Ancaster home.
He had been attempting to sell his truck – a black 2007 Dodge Ram Pickup with the license plate 726-7ZW, through Kijiji and AutoTrader and was taking two men who claimed to be interested in the truck on a test drive.
When he failed to come back, Bosma’s spouse called police and reported him missing.

UPDATE May 14
Timothy Bosma's remains have been found
Very sad ending.

I've been reading about this on Facebook. I certainly hope and pray for his safe return.

Arrest in case of missing Ancaster man Tim Bosma
A 27-year-old Toronto man has been arrested in the investigation into missing Ancaster man, Tim Bosma. Dellen Millard was taken into custody without incident while driving on Cawthra Rd. in Mississauga, Hamilton Police said Saturday.
“It is believed that Dellen Millard is also the driver in the truck incident that took place in Toronto previously,” Supt. Dan Kinsella said.
He is charged with forcible confinement and theft over $5,000. Millard has been identified as the suspect with the ‘Ambition’ tattoo.
But Bosma, 32, is still missing. He was last seen last Monday night, when he left his home to meet with two men who responded to his online ad, posted to sell his black 2007 Dodge Ram pickup truck, license plate 726 7ZW.
Police remained tight-lipped on details Saturday.

He lives about 3 miles from me. This is so sad. Every passing day the hope of finding him alive diminishes.

They mentioned that he put his phone number on the ad so the buyers could call directly.
This makes tracing the people more difficult apparently than if they replied through email.
However, his cell phone was found in Brantford so that is no longer an issue.

It IS shocking. However, I don't see how this guy could have done anything differently. Clearly no one is going to buy a truck without seeing it, and you're not going to let someone test drive it without you. Almost nothing to do specifically about buying/selling online, this is possible no matter how you were selling your vehicle.

Any more news from the police or media? This is just too close for comfort. I feel devistated for his family! Just think of her - Mother's Day with her child and daddy not there!

It's strange though. If all they wanted was the truck, aren't there easier, less risky ways to steal one?
