I needed a new hand saw. So with the scratch and save I went to Rona. They had a nice saw up high with a big label saying something like "as advertised." I couldn't see it well so I pulled it off. It read $14.99, normally $18.99. Then I go to post the sign back up and find the actual normal price is only $13.96. I made them charge me $13.96 and won 10% off that scratch (I got 25% on an earlier purchase).

Anyone else experience Rona doing this? Reminds me of Sears.

I find alot of stores do that. They advertise an amazing sale but have jacked up the prices. Good catch on the price. Congrats on the 25%. I only got the 10% off on my scratch.

I think you're misunderstanding what "imbattable" means / stands for.

It's a price. Any price. Not just sale. That the company sells a lot of i.e. pasta sauce, etc. They put those on there to promote their price-matching policy (because popular products = the sign will be seen by more people.)

Even the announcements every 30min in the store says "Here at Maxi, our prices are unbeatable. That's why we'll price match any product at a lower price with proof. Our "imbattable" stickers are displayed throughout the store and on popular ("favourite") products as to promote this..." Then she says something else, but I can't remember lol

So "imbattable" stickers =\= sales price. I had to tell this to another lady who said that behind the sticker, the price was the same. It's not meant to be different. The shelf sticker just highlights the price matching policy ("imbattable") on popular products.

What Rona did was sneaky, because behind it the price was actually lower than their "advertised" but they were selling it higher because of the Scratch & Save event. That's downright low. Maxi uses "imbattable" stickers - again, nothing to do with the flyer or sales - as advertisement for their price matching policy. That's all it means / stands for.

    However,

Not every price you see in flyers are "sales" either. A lot of flyer space is actually regular price, but they put them there to show what their regular price is. I see it done at Metro, LoBlaws, Provigo and Food Basics, too (so it's not just Maxi that shows non-sales in their flyers). The majority are, but a handful of items esp. on the later-most pages (for Maxi; it's everywhere in the other stores' flyers) are just regular-priced items.

And I think that's not very nice lol 'cause for me, flyers are to promote lowered prices, but I see a lot of regular-priced items tossed in to fill space at a lot of stores.

    Ah, well.

Because of fake prints, stacking manus is no longer allowed
But you can still stack Coupon Zone + 1x Manu, like other Maxi / Loblaw Stores
