I mentioned a couple of months ago that I'd won a trip to LA to see The Who, from JackFM in Toronto. Well, that trip happened this past weekend, and it was pretty cool.

The only problem: the human body (or at least *this* human body) needs periodic rest. The first day, Friday, would have been better if I hadn't been dead tired by midnight (Pacific time). By that time I'd been awake for 22 hours, and had to leave the private party at House of Blues early. This is after a trip to Anaheim to see the Stars trounce the Ducks. And also after, you know, a flight from Toronto to LA. Kind of a long day.

Saturday was a little more sedate; my wife and I went to Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in West Hollywood, and had perhaps the best lunch of our lives. That night, of course, was the concert, which was amazing. The ride back was interesting too, as we had to be redirected around 12,000 people protesting Proposition 8 (which, inexplicably, passed in California). The police presence was enormous, but it would appear that cooler heads prevailed and there was no violence.

The promotions people handled things like the professionals they are, and things went seamlessly. It was a hell of a win.
