restarted my laptop tonight.. when it came back, the power indicator showed that there wasn't a battery... huh?? then it proceded to die on me.. i'm on the kids' netbook right now... hoping that it is only the battery.. been looking on ebay for a replacement, anywhere from $35 on up with the shipping.. i don't want to go for the cheapest i can find because who knows what i'll get but i also don't want to pay through the nose for one either, might as well get a new computer for that
sorry about the lack of punctuation and proper sentences but i'm really angry right nowThis thread is currently associated with: Ebay

that sucks mine did the same thing a few months back.. there was a big red x on the battery symbol.. then one day the plug (yes i kept it plugged in when i shouldn't have so eventually my computer relied on the charger to run the battery) anyway.. the tiny cord right next to the box.. went zzz zzfftt one day.. poof. up in smoke.. dh is still looking for a battery.. its a 6.5 year old Hp. pfft.. fat chance.
hope u find what your looking for soon.Be Strong

my battery laptop computer died on me last year and I had a netbook (both Acer) and tried out the charger. found out the problem was the charger all along -- cost me about $45.00 to replace the charger -- lucky I figure it out by buying the same company laptop and netbook. good luck.

Are you sure it's the battery?
If it's the charger, the manufacturer should replace it even if it's past the warranty period. Just make sure to say that it works off and on, that it makes a crackling noise, and that you're scared it may cause a fire. The policy at almost all manufacturers is to replace the charger because they could be held liable in the event of a fire. If the representative you talk to is unwilling to replace it for free just call back until you get one that will. If you still have trouble with the phone representatives, contact the manufacturer's social media support team via Twitter.

I feel your pain. My laptop is only 2, almost 3 years old and the battery needs to be replaced. I have to keep it plugged in at all times in order for it to stay on.
