took the girls to a friends house this morning for a play date for awhile, then off to the dollar store and GT for a few birthday supplies. I spent the afternoon making tissue paper pompoms in pink and white to hang from the gazebo for the Barbie theme b-day party. I hope it doesn't rain. bought a #5 candle for her cake and 'blinged' it up with some glitter and jewels and stuff (saw it on pinterest).

Thanks ladies! I'm glad it's a good gift. DD will have the same teacher as last year and she's awesome so I want her to know how much we appreciate all her hard work.
GM - how do you do the Pom poms? Still throwing ideas around for DD's candy party.
I did manage to her 8 kids chairs for $0.94 each so with the 2 we already have I should be set. Now to find a long child size table....

To do pom poms I get 5 pieces of tissue paper and fold them like an accordion. I then tie it in the centre and curve the ends gently with scissors. Then I pull apart each layer gently. Do this twice and attach them together at the centre and then tie ribbon around the centre so I can hang them. Makes nice big ones.
I am freezing in my tent and cannot sleep and there is a skunk outside. Daylight cannot come fast enough right now. Glad I decided against leaving my phone at home.Love like crazy everyday and smile.

that's how I've been doing the pompoms as well. for me I found that 5 sheets of tissue paper accordion folded worked well for the large ones. I made several smaller ones just by cutting the larger one (still in the accordion fold) in half and made 2 smaller ones. if that makes sense? I also rounded the ends while still in the accordion fold to give it a more flowery look. just be very gentle separating the tissue. rips real easy but they're so pretty. http://pinterest.com/pin/74450200063162122/

Any other tips MrsSunshine? We are having one in a couple of weeks. I am pricing as I clean out house so everything in the sale pile is already priced and wiped clean. I have been purging one area of the home per week all summer. Small items I traditional have left over have been put in my donation pile and anything I have deemed not worth selling or donating I am pitching. I try to price things under $2. I have a couple of larger or more quality items (e.g. new in box Brita) priced $2-10. Any other tips are appreciated.

I advertised on kijiji and around the neighborhood.. i had a few free boxes that attracted alot of attention..
dh bundled like items together on tables.. always be willing to negotiate. have bags and tissue to wrap items.
i also made a bunch of baked goods that sold really well.Be Strong
