free veggies

A neighbour (and friend) has a garden overflowing with goodies and has invited us to help her harvest! Free veggies rock! We have a fresh cucumber, 2 jalapenos, a fistful of beet greens to try(first time), a bunch of carrots and tomatoes(each child picked one and popped it into the bucket). The week prior we gave out free apples - great karma! We have such great neighbours. Another neighbour Lola (Phillipino grandma) made us some pansit for lunch today yum! (noodles with veg and meat). <---no pic for the pansit as it was consumed immediately yum

Just joking. The best veggies are free veggies. And they seem to taste better too.

If you save the seeds from the jalepenos you may have your own plants in a pot next summer

Very lucky to have such great neighbours for the most part and we all help each other out from time to time. Lending a lawn mower, borrowing an egg mid-recipe, sharing veg/fruit, minding each others kids when the need arises, calling 911 when someone has fallen off a ladder and broken both legs (!!! this happened and one neighbour just watched and did nothing), and just plain hangin' out. Good peeps.

Awesome, it is sure nice to hear you have a caring neighborhood. We really need to get back to the basics and start caring for each other again. I remember when all surplus was shared around or bartered for what we needed. And if a neighbor was in need, everyone chipped in.

Great for you to have such good neighbours.You are Lucky,not everyone have this chance anymore.I remember my uncle and my auntie friend garden..That was awesome
