We started a "Casserole Keeners" club!
consists of four moms, we meet every 8 weeks. We all bring enough food to make 2 different casseroles for each of us, so we each leave with eight different casseroles/suppers. All freeze well.
So here's a pic of what we accomplished today, and a list of our yummies!
-chicken pot pie
-sheppards pie
-lasagna
-taco soup
-chicken bake
-sweet and sour sausage and rice
-pork chop, potato casserole
-tuna noodle casserole

consider starting one of your own with friends, or family, they make great quick healthy suppers and its nice to get a new variety each time we get together!
have a great day all! This thread is currently associated with: N/A

That's awesome; community cooking is a great idea!
Wondering what you base the amount per meal on - e.g. for four servings, six?

I love this idea!! Especially cookie exchanges during the holidays.

When I was single, a co-worker and I would make each other lunch from left overs. As any single person knows, making dinner for 1 is difficult. So, we would make dinner for 3-4 people. Eat dinner for 1, and then the next day bring in the left overs for 2 of us. Helped save cost!

This is amazing!!!!!!!! I love the team work aspect of this. I wish I lived close to you lol. This is right up my alley.
My friends and I do a soup swap every 6 months or so. The idea is this:
You make a big pot of your favorite soup (enough for everyone involved). Divide the soup into multiple portions. Put them into ziplock freezer bags and freeze them so they are flat. This makes it easier for storage in our freezers and no one has to give out their tupperware. Also when frozen flat, it takes less time to thaw. Label your soup with your name and what it is. And maybe the date.
This picture was only some of the soup.
This next one, we have 10 people joining. woohoo I LOVE soup.Last edited by cheapNcheeky; Wed, Aug 28th, 2013 at 11:21 AM.

Oh I am totally adding this to one of our dates! I love it!
I did the taco soup this time, but never thought of putting it in ziploc bags, instead we just added all the ingredients except the water and the water I'll be added once unthawed. That way it freezes in the consistency of chili.
