I went to my local Target today to buy some Glad kitchen garbage bags. I'm still very new at PMing there so I'm not sure whether what the cashier did was correct or not.
I had $2 off manufacturer coupons and $2 off Target coupons. I was PMing the bags from No Frills for $4.88 each. The Target price was $5.99. The cashier at Customer Service took the $2 Target coupon off of their price and then said that they PM the "after Target coupon price". So with the price now lowered to $3.99, which was now cheaper than the NF flyer price, she then took the $2 manufacturer coupon off the now post Target coupon $3.99 price. Sigh....Is this making sense??
So, with all that said, what do my SCers think of this? Is this the regular practice at Target with doing a PM?Michelle

According to the target.ca website:
So yes the person was right in doing that.Combining both Target and manufacturer coupons: the Target coupon will be applied before the price match is made. If the competitor price is still lower than the price after the Target coupon has been deducted, the ad match can be adjusted to match the competitor's price. Once the price match is made the manufacturer coupon will be applied.

Yep, that's the way the policy works.
Up until now, they just hadn't been practicing it that way. Seems they are finally following their own policy!

Ok. Thanks everyone. So it looks like PMing is out
But it is worth doing the double couponing when its a really good Target price.

thats just it, got to wait until target has the product on sale, then use target coupon + manufacturers
pricematching is pointless at target unless you are doing it to only use 1 manufacturers coupon....then again you could just do that at any store that PMs
