If I am not mistaken, you have to register the card before you can get any points.

I purchased some PC yogurt the other day, it said it was worth 200 points. When i got to the till and asked for the PC plus card he scanned it and gave it to me, but when i went online today to register it showed I have 0 points.

so im thinking the scanning part for a new card just activates the card, but you still have to go online and register to get the points part started.
    or am I mistaken?

I got points on my new card (she couldn't scan my app) before I registered it, my app showed my old points value for about an hour then the new transaction was added

weird, maybe the 200 points was only good on the 1% PC yogurt, I bought the 2%. Oh well, i'll just have to pay more attention next time.

The scanning is a way of tracking a card as being in someone's possession, but until you set up your online account and confirm the link sent to your e-mail, your PC Plus card is just another parked loyalty card. From what I have seen posted by SCers in Atlantic provinces, they are seeing different points offers in their flyers from what Ontario SCers are getting.

I could not confirm the link in the morning prior to lunch (site had technical difficulties) the first day of the card release in Hamilton. But by the evening, I was able to click through and confirm account. I put the card to use the next day.

This morning I picked up 8 pizzas (PM'd Metro), I couldn't redeem so I thought I would do this as a first transaction and then did the $20 worth of meat in the second transaction but once again, couldn't redeem the points; the cashier asked if I had any of the old points (which I did) so I redeemed $20 worth of those. I did get all 45,000 bonus points though.

Grabbed a card today then went through the cashier and had 5,000 points on the account as I registered when I got home. Only problem was that it said I had to activate my account via the email they'd send me. That email never came but I logged in no problem.

    Alert for you:

Colgate Total is apparently $1.65 and comes with 1,000 pts. ($1).

There are $1.50 coupons out there so not counting tax you'd make $0.85 profit on each. (I got my coupons at the dentist BTW).

Don't know when they switch over. Tomorrow might be the last day.

Would this be at RCSS? I tried one of Loblaws locations here, but no such luck at my location. *sniff* Ah, how I wish they'd change it to a Superstore...

Agreed! I was curious, too. I asked the cashier at Loblaws this morning about it, just to be sure it wasn't a location specific thing. She said YES, you can purchase GCs with your points! She added with a bit of a sly grin that you can't buy cigarettes with points, but you can buy a GC with pts and use that to pay for cigs. Kinda random 'cuz I don't smoke LOL

Here in NS, the Smoke Shop is a separate entity so you can't use the gift cards in there... (my fiance has tried - stupid habit!)
