So normally I don't do this, but I emailed walmart regarding their money back 100% satisfaction guarantee thing for their great value corn chips. I bought them for the taco dip I made for a pot luck lunch for work. I bought three bags of this stuff and didn't even get through one bag because of how ridiculously salty these things were. Like, I love salty, but these... Oh my lord. After three or four and your tongue was just numb. So I kept getting complaints from coworkers about the chips. We just ended up running downstairs to buy a bag of tostitos. So anyway, I emailed walmart about it just saying they should look into the ingredients and that I'd prefer compensation for the two bags I was left with that I couldn't return cause I opened all three bags into a giant bowl. This was 3 1/2 weeks ago and haven't heard nothing. I wasn't expecting to because I know walmart just cares about money, but honestly, don't slap a "guarantee" on there and not hold your end of the bargain. Idiots.

I always thought for a guarantee like that you return the items to the store, and they handle things in person.

I had a similar problem with their walmart.ca complaints email form ..although its regarding a different product though , which I had bought online & was defective & the store wouldn't take it back..so I had to email them for a refund & complaint.
They kept on sending me an automated canned response & kept on creating a E-Ticket number , so initially I was mad...saying that we have received your email..blah blah ..and we have created a Ticket # for you ..blah blah ..the usual.
But guess what ? I kept on complaining and finally they heard me & sent me a RMA ( refund authorization )
I literally had to send them 5-6 emails & in each and every email I would link the E-Ticket number ( automated number created by them ) from the previous email complaint , so finally they sent me a refund.
It shouldn't have taken so long , but I was right and was entitled to a refund as the product was defective and wasn't going to give up.
So the system works but only after numerous tries ( unfortunately )
...so if you send a few more emails , they will probably hear you too

I returned a box of chocolate macaroons that I had opened and tried. They tasted like wax or soap.
I just returned to the store with it and the receipt. No probs.

I took a box of plastic wrap back to the store because the box fell apart and was impossible to cut the wrap anymore. They gave me a new one, no questions asked. I didn't have the receipt or anything but because it is Great Value, they knew it was their product.

I bought a few cryovac packs of pork ribs at Maxi a couple of years ago. They were big packs and I wanted to devide them in two and freeze them for single meals. When I opened them, they stank. Everyone of them. So I took them back to CS at Maxi and explained the problem. CS told me that they were supposed to smell that way. Her boyfriend is a butcher and apparently, pork smells that way when a pig is castrated. I don't care. I will not eat food if it smells that way. Got my money back.

I just don't buy great value brand. I just don't trust certain "no name" brands and would rather spend a little extra and know i'm getting good stuff. When stuff is that salty or chocolate taste like wax or soap, then who knows what they put in their products. Just doesn't sit well with me.

I have found that the Walmart great value brand is very inferior compared to other no name brands. Usually I would not hesitate to buy presidents choice or no name but I always watch out for great value. I have bought their rice crispie treats and canned peaches and both were disgusting. Complaints literally go nowhere at my local Walmart so I stopped shopping there unless I absolutely must

Walmart has a terrible track record about how they treat their own employees. It doesn't surprise me that they would treat their customers any differently.

walmart knows their customer...sadly, they know their customer isn't loyal to the store for the good experience they are loyal because of the cheap prices, and they will put up with ty service to save $$ they know that some customers depend on their store to make a tiny budget stretch, and some of their customers will buy more because things are just that much cheaper...they can get away with treating customers badly(even lying to customers), and staff not so great because they know.. the customer will be back due to the sale prices.. at the moment target is only their real competition and target isn't as cheap as walmart, or superstore for groceries (but even superstore isn't as cheap as walmart and superstore produce is often questionable-at least at the few i've been to, it's also like pulling teeth to price match at superstore and have a low low coupon limit).. to walmart we are just a sale, where some stores we are treated as a customer

A trip back to the store with an original receipt would have likely solved the problem immediately. Not sure how many retailers would issue a refund based on an e-mail and no original proof of purchase.
So many coupons....so little time!

Yes, had you returned to the store with a receipt and indicated why you wanted your money back, you would have gotten a refund. An email isn't going to get you a refund...need proof you actually purchased said product.
However, I'm not a fan of salty things, however, I prefer the GV corn chips to Fritos. I've never had a bag that was too salty, so maybe that run of product had a bit more added in error.
