Guess my couponing and SCOP has rubbed off on DS (24). Today he was shopping at Superstore alone. Bought 2 energy drinks, price goes in wrong at register. Goes to customer service and they do price check. Dept supervisor comes back and says yes they are priced 2/$4.00. So they we going to give him a refund for the price difference. Then he speaks up and says, hey that should be SCOP
. Sure enough, SCOP.

Awesome! My 22 is doing great with shopping, too, now that he's on his own.

Isn't it great when they finally get it !! Now that my kids pay for most of their things they realize how expensive things are!! My 3 kids have their own optimum cards, they share an SPC card ( they save a lot of money with this). They usually ask me when they're going to buy things in case I have a coupon..My son even asked for a discount at Value Village, he was buying clothes for a Halloween costume and there was a small whole in one of the items, so they gave him 50% off!! I always tell them there is no harm in asking for a discount, the worst thing is they say no!!

When my kids were younger, they hated shopping with me because I use coupons and had to argue many times with cashiers. To them, it was embarrasment and time consuming. To this day, DS will not go shopping with me, LOL. DD loves shopping with me because she will help me get the items with the coupons I have. When there is a good coupon on like smartsource, I tell her to print them for me because it's 2 per computer. Benefits her and me. Or on Facebook for free Leon's pillows.
When SDM had the 95,000 redemption for $250 a couple of years ago, I told her she could redeem it at Murale for high end makeup. It took her 3 hours because she wanted the best price and not just anything just because it's free.
Congrats to everyone who are teaching their kids to fish.

The only time SCOP does not work is when there is a sticker on the item and the price is scanned higher. The sticker price will always win.

This reminds me of when Hubby brought me home flowers about a year ago, he stopped at the grocery store to put his cheque in the bank and decided to get me flowers. They rang up wrong and he mentioned SCOP, best flowers ever because they were free!
