Hello everyone. Did not shop yesterday, went to the office for a few hours to finish something and will take an afternoon off this week in exchange. Have a meeting in Barrie so will do a bit of shopping etc. Went today to RCSS since it was tax free day. It was very busy and I was a little stressed as I was price matching and using tons of coupons (and decided to do the Pepsi promo since DS needed restocking on gaterade and shoppers had the 6 pack for $3.99 ($2.50 In the vending machine at the arena) so figured it was a good deal. My bill before coupons was almost $100. I left paying $35! And I got lots. and the cashier took the tax off twice! ($6.50) Bought wonder bread and buns for $1 each (On sale for $2 then on reduced rack) Taco kits for $1 after pm AND $2 coupon and they have the movie snack coupon on them.7 boxes of free granola bars for DS, 2 packs of chicken thighs on for just over $1 LB. Will be 2 great crock pot dinners! Bought apples .88Lbs and got bonus pc POINTS and Hamburger helper for $1.47 used $2 coupon and saved the difference on my 3 pk romaine hearts $1.88 plus 600 bonus pc Points and fresh tomatoes for tonights dinner. Very happy with my haul!

Getting laundry all caught up and making a nice dinner. Boneless/skinless chicken breasts in the oven with a nice fresh tomato/garlic/feta cheese topping, ceaser salad and garlic bread

Happy Sunday everyone! We have been purging too. I am starting to declutter in hopes our new home will be bought soon. Wowee the stuff I don't need!!! And, I already did a huge clean out this summer with our garage sale. But now, if I don't want to move it…buh bye!!! It is freeing and I am in awe because I wouldn't consider myself a hoarder in the first place.

Gave a bag of coats and blankets to a local shelter
Have a couple items selling on a mom's FB group
Kijiji items are now "leftovers" and moving slowing (sold an item for a $1 today)

I have 2 bags of clothes and 5 small boxes of other household items to donate (I will be adding the Kijiji items the next time Diabetes pick-up).

I am only posting the stuff that might sell. I have to balance the time I have and choose the stuff I post.

been busy here too.. dh helped our son conquer his room. we all worked together had it done in an hour..
now to incentify the other one.. is that a word?
were getting a snow squall warning here..lovely..
heading to michaels' in the morning.. need to stock up on some sale items.
dinner is in the oven.. laundry is in the works.. will tidy up main level shortly
dh is off to work tonite for an extra shift.

Lazy day here but at least I got one load of clothes done and bought some eggs on sale at SDM and splurged on a prime rib roast for dinner-I figure it is still cheaper than takeout and should be yummers with the Yorkshire pudding, veggies, gravy etc I am making with it. Most frugal thing I did today( should help make up for the splurge on a roast)-my DD needed a long sleeve black shirt for a school play on Thursday night. I looked through all the closets and couldn't find one yet I really didn't want to go out and buy a shirt for possibly one use- just as I was about to give up and go out shopping, I spotted a long black stretch dress in her closet( it was a hand me down) which she said she wouldn't be wearing as a dress again as it was too tight. Presto, I cut off the bottom few inches and she now has an instant shirt that will do nicely for Thursday night-quite proud of myself as I am not a crafty seamstress type of person at all. Don't have a sewing machine so can't hem it but the type of material doesn't fray and I don't think it will really matter-if so she can tuck into her pants for the one wearing!!

Did a couple loads of laundry today. Lost our hydro while the 2nd load was drying. Four hours later we realized the breaker flipped. Had forgot that we can`t use the dryer without turning off the heater in the entrance in case the water heater comes on at the same time...we have a 100 amp service. The only time it`s an issue is when I use the dryer in the winter. It hadn`t happened in over 3 years but I bet we`ll remember now. lol The hydro`s been off so much lately that we never even thought of the problem being here.

Scalloped potatoes and ham...my favourite meal! Hubby is making veg beef soup with the leftover meat and broth from last night`s supper.

Was supposed to go to my friend`s birthday celebration this afternoon but it was snowing and blowing so we decided to stay home.

-just made fish and French fries for supper
-trying to clean popcorn stucco off floor-had some plastic down along with old sheets-but some missed it and hit the floor -oh well that's a job

ham and scalloped potatoes here too. DH got a mandolin slicer for Christmas (he asked for it) and so he & the teen did the potatoes while I was at the gym. Metro has ham on clearance so I used my air miles for 10 dollars off with a bonus of 25 air miles. Then off to RCSS for no tax. Did not spend as much as planned as they did have orange Gatorade.

well i can def. say i should have called my mom and asked for her recipe.. i goofed somewhere. i think i should have had flour in the mix and less cream/milk..
the taters were still cooked just not 'juicy' looking.

well hams in the CP.. will be peeling taters later for the scalloped part.

I also found out some great news last night.. my Dad does not have Dementia.. just had short term memory loss from the infections he's had.. will regain that back eventually.
He looked 100% better last night than he has in years.(frig certainly not the 82 he is)

I made a bit of progress. Started listing things yesterday on kijiji. There's a lot of books so that will be slow. Posted a few more things today on kijiji. So far I have about 18 items.

Also gave away one big thing and couple of bags of stuff on freecycle and go dh to drop off a box of magazines to the book exchange at the Co-op.

This is going to be a long long process but at least I've started.

Great thinking outside of the box about the dress becoming a presto shirt , smart & quick thinking .

Prime rib is so delish...I'm drooling - definitely cheaper than takeout for sure & much better in my opinion
