My daughter brought home the mandatory made at school mothers day card. In it were 5 pages with the top 5 reasons "My mom is special"

Her reason #3 - "My mom is very wealthy and is a coupon maniac. In other words she saves a lot of money"

I asked her why she thought we were wealthy, we are not by any means, and she says well we donate a lot of stuff. I thought that was pretty interesting.

Cute-and I guess we are all wealthy compared to most people living in the third world. My husband constantly tells me we live a luxurious lifestyle, yet I see us as an average Canadian family, neither rich nor poor but comfortable. But maybe he is right- compared to past generations and other countries we in Canada are quite fortuate. I think that the majority of us here on SC have the security of a roof over our heads and knowing where the next meal is coming from-although we may have to figure out how to pay an unexpected bill or extra.
