Makes mem want to redo the benches that were left behind when we bought the house! Of coarse, DH refuses to let me use spray paint now that I'm pregnant, so I guess I just added something to his list for this weekend
Love the feathered friend as well! So cute!

you could paint by hand. unless its the actual fumes he's worried about. not as harmful if you wear a mask. or he could do it

I've read that painting is ok, that paint isn't like it used to be. He's worried about spray paint fumes, says they are worse. He's adminant about it so I just said ok guess you're spray painting all my projects for me

We have done tons of DIY in our condo Thanks to Patty, I tackled the backsplash in our kitchen a while back when we reno'd our kitchen. About 2 months ago we replaced all the doors in our condo, added a new granite countertop and vanity in the bathroom,, replaced the toilet with a one piece low flush one, replaced the baseboards and all new flooring (again) a hand scraped wood. Since then, we have decided to sell and travel for while, but we have recouped all our investment, then some.
Patty and many of he others here gave me the encouragement to do a lot of the tasks myself. Patty is amazing at DIY, as are so many others. We all need a little sunshine every now and then

We started ripping out some old flower beds this past weekend. We want some beds but the people before us had covered almost every inch of lawn in flower beds, way too much for us! The lawn is looking better and opening up already!

The most serious gardening I do would seem very strange to an onlooker, for it involves hours of walking round in circles, apparently doing nothing." --Helen Dillon

You guys have inspired me! I bought a cute little table with drawers yesterday I plan on sanding it down and painting it
I already have the paint from when I did my hutch (it was my mothers china cabinet) I gave the top away for free and kept the bottom part. Sanded it and painted it and put new handles on it to match my taste

I'm currently 're' working on a project. I'm trying to make a gazing ball (a ball with glass stones for the garden) for dh for his birthday. I bought a ball for $1.25 at the dollar store. painted it white with acrylic poster paint. as it had painted on soccer ball details.
Once it was done i tried to hot glue glass stones on it. well i went to gently touch one and they all fell off. not happy.
SO i asked dh what he though... he has no idea what I'm doing.. anyway he suggested spray paint. so now its out in the sun drying after two complete coats of spray.
so far so good. if it works with this type of paint, i'll post pics of it done. as i forgot before pics.Be Strong

I'm bumping this thread to show off my latest 'project'.
Before, with the broken drawer I accidentally dropped
After stain, paint and added handles, excuse the photo frames with the stock image still in them
