I've been feeling really fortunate recently and today I took my daughter to the food court to eat lunch and a guy came around asking for change to eat. Initially I told him no. I've had numbers of people ask for money for food and refuse to be purchased a meal and after a while I've gotten cynical about beggars. However I saw him ask someone else and get really dirty looks from the table in front of me and he just looked so defeated so I called him over and offered him a meal if he wanted. I let him get anything he wanted from one of 8 kiosks and he smiled and showed me which he wanted. It came up to 10.50. I told him this was under one condition...which was once he gets his life together he has to help someone else he didn't know with the same condition that they help someone they didn't know. He said bien sur (Of course)! I figure I spread some really good karma...and its easy to do since I save hundreds on SC.

Nice...I hope he gets his life in order. It's also good that you bought him food. Sadly, most would use money/change on drugs/alcohol.

What a truly great brag. sometimes you have to trust your gutt. My family has done this a # of times, members of my own family have btdt. All of us no matter our circumstances are only one cheque away from this type of life.
I'm sure this man truly appreciated your generousity, no doubt will pay it forward some day.
Good karma will kiss you on the cheek someday as well

Even those who may have drug or alcohol issues need food. Someone close to me was very far down at one point, and I would never give money, but would gladly give a bag of Oreos, chips, pop, whatever I knew she loved. It doesn't have to be healthy. When you are that far down, any food is good food, as many times they go days without eating anything.
Good for you. I guarantee he has already paid forward in some form or other to those around him.

Another big time brag! Love reading the kind of brags that are not necessarily about what we got for how little $$/ free.As humans, we need to help out each other in various ways when we see fit. Thanks for sharing & be blessed with great karma.

That is nice normally I will never give change but if I had a doggie bag with food in it I usually give that away if the guy was nice enough and NOT an aggressive begger.
