The weather always seems to be a safe bet as a conversation ice breaker, but it never seems to get anymore attention than that...
What are your thoughts on the weather? What do you enjoy most and least?
...do you have any interesting stories to share?
the graphic is a screen capture from a Weather Network video.
Have a look here. The tornado is happening at night, illuminated by the lightning strikes.

Weather, the one thing we can NEVER count on....
It's either crazy, or crazier...and sexy

We all need a little sunshine every now and then

The weather doesn't bother me much, I am more comfortable when it colder but the summer heat has not bothered me much in the last 3 years since we changed our diet.
I love to shovel(ok actually have a snowblower, but still ) when it's above -10 and not windy it's perfect weather.
Just heard on the radio this morning that Montreal had NO smog days this summer because it was breezier and that coal plants in Ontario and the mid west have shut down. Thank you for that

Lily dog LOVES to watch lightning. I have a slight view of the lake, and we get one or two wicked storms each summer (not hot enough this year, sigh) where the lightning is just breath-taking as it splits a green sky.

Quincy cat just stares at us from the comfort of whatever box he's napping in, trying to will me to tear myself away from the window and get him a snack.

One of the biggest reasons I love where we live in central SK, is that we have four distinct seasons - and the weather coming with them. We can go from +40 to below -40.
I don't like the heat and especially humidity.
I do like winter - not the yucky stuff, but there is something wonderful about how strong the sun shines and how beautiful it is on a crisp -40 day. Love walking in the snow when footsteps crunch!
Spring/fall with rain - I can take it or leave it. My favourite rains are in the summer.
I do still like puddle-jumping!
When I was younger, I absolutely loved winter sports - skating, shinny (on street or rink but no skates), cross-country skiing, broomball, curling.

Prior to Dec-Jan ( covering over 35 years! ) I despised listening to the forecasts but did it daily pretty much out of necessity to prepare for work. Winter was always the nagging resentful PITA, but it balanced out with being outdoors in the lovely sunshine of summer and the crisp inviting Autumn air.
Now that retirement has relieved me of giving a crap anymore I view the forecasts with a grain of salt. Funny how I now cringe and have empathy for others experiencing horrible weather conditions though??
I do have 2 chickens ( shih tzu's ) here to entertain and distract during thunder boomers but other than that I give thanks all the time that personally we have not been directly affected by any landslides, floods, hurricanes/tornadoes and such.

I love watching the lightning. I like the weather here. When it gets too cold or too hot it's annoying but most of the time I am pretty content with it.
