Not sure this is the thread for my question...but here it goes

Bad news: I got a cold today
Good news: found a deal on Tylenol
Better news: got to use the Tylenol 3$ coupon!

Headed to Walmart, proceeded with the Tylenol price match. No problems until I handed the coupon. The small print says '(...) may not be combined with any other offer'. The cashier had a problem with this. CSM came by to say that the PM was considered 'another offer'. I was in no shape to question this, so I just grabbed my purchases and left.

So my question - was their interpretation correct? I always thought this meant that it couldn't be stacked with other coupons.

Nope. They were incorrect. A sale price is not considered another offer.

As per Walmarts policy a coupon and price match can both be accepted on a product. Occasionally you'll run into cashiers and csms who will say no and interpret the coupon in there own way but really it could mean anything. I don't think it means it can't be used on a sale. You should be able too.

However almost all coupons say this can not be combined with any other offer which really isn't clear what it really means lol

I guess we have all been using coupons wrong (sarcasim) because I always use them on sales and price matching and will continue to do so.

I am a coupon stacker and this wording "can not be combined with any other offer" is stackable and I can use it on sales and price matching without issues.

If it says "can not to be combined with any other coupon" then it's not stackable.

I Hope you feel better soon. If I may suggest you pointing out all other coupons say this and that is doesn't specifically say you can't use a coupon on a price match. Which just means your buying the product at walmarts store instead of the other store. Walmart wants your business so they
Allow price matching so you'll buy it there instead of the other store.

I hope this helps and makes sense

They tried that with me once and I said if I bought this at the other store I would still be able to use the coupon, so price matching is not another offer, you're just matching the price so I get to use the coupon..I guess she didn't want to argue so she let me use them!!

With new cashiers seeming to be trained almost on a daily basis at some Walmarts, and some CSMs not really very familiar with their own workplace policies, it's always easiest (for me anyways), to carry a copy of the stores coupon policy. At least that way, it hard for them to argue, and it's not a waste of your time and energy to go there.

Any other offer is not related to ad matching at all. It is related to use of another coupon (even though the coupon may say something about not being combined with another coupon, manufacturers also put this any other offer on there to basically emphasize the use of ONE coupon only on the purchase). Cashier/CSM both wrong in this case - coupon should have been allowed on the ad match.

RCSS did that to me once. I didn't bother to argue with them. Then Safeway tried saying i couldnt use a coupon when they had a BOGO sale. I called their head office and someone got a new a$$ ripped. I haven't had any problems there since.

It's becoming that I need to shop around certain CSMs schedules lol
@ilovecats - this is exactly what I thought as well...an ad match is not an offer.
@i_forget - I have come across this issue at another store that had a sale on a certain item. The cashier refused the coupon on the basis that the sale of the item was considered an offer, and so the coupon couldn't be applied...ugh!

Not surprised at all. I always have issues at Walmart.
