If you had purchased an item and used coupon for it and ended up exchanging or returning it, do you get the amount less coupon back or the full amount back? I had purchased an item in RCSS using a $1.00 off coupon and then realized I didn't want that item. Next day, I took it back to the Customer Service, I was asked if I used a coupon on the item and when I said yes I was told I would only be getting the amount of the product less coupon back, is that true? There were other three items on the bill and only 1 coupon used, I could have lied but didn't.

I think it may very store to store but this is my understanding from target. I would always get the full amount back because they would say that the coupon is already sent to head office to be mailed off and something about not beg able to refund a manufacture's coupon amount after it's been taken in.

you should get the whole amount back BUT in some situations they won't do that because the store has been abused by this policy (people buying things with coupon then returning to get full value back to essentially make money, this was particularly bad a few yrs back when tylenol had a printable coupon allowing you to get the product for free)

Depends on the place really, I know Rexall (at least my location) with give you a refund minus the amount of the coupon)

I can see this being the latest thing the stores will all try now to reduce the chance of fraudsters returning things to profit somewhat from the use of coupons. They already ask for a name or phone number now to keep track of " repeat returners ".

If you didn't get full value of the product back you should have asked for the coupon back since you returned the product. The company is getting the value of the coupon from the manufacturer but they didn't actually sell the product.

I asked for the coupon back but was told they can't give it back because it was not the same time/day.
