Good morning, everyone.

Have to go to the eye specialist today and get zapped (when they did the surgery for the detached retina back in the spring, the eye got a wee bit jostled and now needs to have a bit of scar tissue cleaned up before I can have a cataract removed). Fun times. On the plus side, since I'm not allowed to go home alone from the hospital (even more fun - minor zap is done in hospital, more complex surgery will be done at a clinic ), my Mom & bff will be coming to get me and have dinner with me (my Mom is bringing me schnitzel). If I vanish for a day or so, it's because I'm blind as a bat or too stuffed from eating to move, so not to worry.

Brats are waiting patiently for breakfast, so better get going.

Good Morning. Guess I have not been on since last Friday. Thanksgiving was great as I had to stop working on the roof. Still got a long way to go! The weather been ok but not great on the weekends. Maybe this week I can get the main roof sealed up.They should be back in the office next week so maybe I can take an extra day.

Life, Death and the Blues was very enjoyable last night. It was part conversing about the blues and how Raoul got into it and part music. Every night he has a different guest - last night was Brian Blane. There were a few other guests I would have liked to have seen but couldn't make it those nights. They plan to take the show across Canada in 2015. I've seen Raoul and his band a few times - very good - he can sure play that harp! and Devine Brown has a great voice.


Geez, we've still got computer problems, the other repair guy said yesterday he can't fix it either, so today she's going to Apple to see if they can do anything at all - although it's out of warranty........she's only had it a year and a half.......a new one will cost at least $1200..... damn........

WOOHOOO-my young cousin is having her first child and her water broke this morning! Cant wait for this baby, we have not had a young one in the family since my kids were little!

my poor daughter is really stressed about that damn computer - she can't do her work for school without it and she already had a lot of extra to get done because of us going to Turkey for 3 weeks, it couldn't have happened at a worse time.....she could well fail her a few of her courses if we can't get the thing going very soon, but everywhere takes so long....even with Apple she has an appointment for Tuesday but that's too long to wait so she's going in in person today hoping to talk to them.......if they can't give some kind of compensation we'll have to buy a new one.....it has to be a Mac....

I am sure she will be fine E! Has she spoken to her profs and explained what has happened? I know when we had an issue with out Mac they quoted a much longer lead time for repair and then it was fixed quite quickly so hopefully that will be the case for you too. Dont feel bad about the trip, that is a once in a lifetime thing and there is no way you could have seen this computer thing coming!

That's too bad - sounds terminal. If she bought it and paid by Visa she should have insurance coverage through them
