Thread: 140 hours - New record.

Not sure if anyone noticed, but I don't post much Monday through Friday... and most of my activity is on Saturday.
We've been so busy at work, I've been stuck working every weekend since I joined Smartcanucks. Granted I do take the opportunity to dog it a little bit on the weekend almost entirely with the posts I make here... And then almost entirely in the "Shopper Optimum" area.
However... I've been working extremely hard and I'm a bit pooped and thought I'll just share.
I'll be hitting a 140 hours on my next pay check over a 2 week period. 52 hours overtime. New record!
Which makes me feel sort of like this...

So it's all good.
See you all next Saturday!

Thank you guys,
I'm a Purchasing Manager in a relatively small front office Mining Construction Company. So in addition to my roll as a Purchasing Manager, I also wear a lot of other hats like Project Coordinator, Project Administrator, Office Computer guy, Spreadsheet Magic maker, Disbatcher (I have a 2 way radio a my desk), part human resources (I interview and hire all the labourers and equipment operators). Until very recently, I was also the receptionist. Currently we are operating with about 80 employee's.
Prior to this year, we were able to get along with a very small front office... President, Vice President, Safety Manager, Book Keeper, ME (We also have a parts guy and a head maintenance man down in our Shop, i used to be the parts guy years ago). But about 1 year ago we added a HR person, who looks after HR and Payroll specifically (I still do all the hiring, and fire occasionally). Then just this summer we hired 2 more ladies (now the ladies try to answer the phone before me. Although i have a difficult time refraining from answering. lol), One to take additional strain off of me and to manage safety documents and training requirements, and one to take additional strain of the HR girl, and to complete daily Force accounts for a various contracts which our billing hinges on (which bascially entails filling out A pretty amazing spreadsheet of my creation hehe ).
Fun fact is, the book keeper and I grew up with from the age of 14 (Me, her, her sister and her mom would get drunk almost every weekend from the age of 16 on.. I know bad, but the fun i had), and then one of the new hires is also a good friend ("who you know addage" i guess). But the sense of family and comarade in our office is fantatic. True Team effort and we get along so well, it's honestly fun to be here. That and the fact everyone body is in awe of my performance and know that I pretty well run the place.. well it just feeds my ego horribly, but also makes me feel completely great and appreciated.
And yes, sorry to see the lay offs... I can't help but think its because more and more of us handle almost all our banking online? Ah.. who knows.Last edited by Poobah; Sun, Nov 9th, 2014 at 11:23 AM.

haha.. Well Pretty much. Our Vice President (former President) is currently in retirement mode, and only comes in 3 hours a day and most of that time entails planning his next vacation or laughing up with friends on the phone. He was a wonderful laugh mind you. And our current President, well he's 50 and with his second wife, lets just say he's learned to enjoy life more, and is getting away at least 4 times a year, twice to mexico and usually a couple spur of the moment affairs to some place or another to catch a concert somewhere... Like Fleet wood mac in chicago recently. And Then there is hunting season, where he takes additional weeks for moose hunting (as I type this) and Deer season coming up... All of which means, I'm pretty much at the top of the food for a few months of the year.
It also means though.. and saddly. I don't get holidays... Unless you count 1 week for Christmas.
