Good morning gang! Hicks, you could try dog boots (see the link below)-I trim my dogs paws short like Jester suggested but she still occasionally gets the snow and ice balls if it is very sticky wet snow

If My Body Were a Car!

This is just too funny -

scary how true it is!!!

If my body were a car, this is the time I would be thinking about trading it in for a newer model. I've got bumps and dents and scratches in my finish and my paint job is getting a little dull...
But that's not the worst of it.

My headlights are out of focus,
And it's especially hard to see things up close.

My traction is not as graceful as it once was. I slip and slide and skid and bump into things even in the best of weather.

My whitewalls are stained with varicose veins.

It takes me hours to reach my maximum speed. My fuel rate burns inefficiently..

But here's the worst of it.

Almost every time I sneeze, cough or sputter,
Either My Radiator Leaks or My Exhaust Backfires!

He litteraly tore the coat to shreds !!! The boots were pulled off. Guess I'll try again.

A new idea (to me)
Omelet muffins!
Just caught this and had to share - way too easy not to do! Here's how you can make the same at home:
Simply spray... the muffin pan, add in your favorite omelet mix ins and cover with scrambled eggs or egg whites.

Options to try
- spinach and feta
- salsa and cheddar
- chicken and hot sauce
- tomatoes and peppers
Really, the options are endless! Add to oven on 350 for about 30 minutes, remove and enjoy!

Can be stored in the fridge for up to one week.

A good trim and vaseline helps for the paws. Daisy's get packed in when we go hiking, then she licks them and it gets worse.
You can also rub the legs and belly down lightly and it should help

I have also used PAM on her paws, but it is kinda stinky, so spray it on outside. I don't think it would be a good idea anywhere but the pads.
It works well on her paws and can be applied quickly and doesn't get my hands all greasy.

There is also Musher's Secret, for thge paws, works well, but expensive in comparison to vaseline and PAM.

The temperature has a lot to do with the "balls" once its colder he wont get as many in his fur.
Daisy doesn't get them so much because she is higher off the ground.
We do trim the feathers on her hind quarters, shorter in the winter.

This website suggests melting them out with a pail of warm water, also says you need to comb the dog out after they melt to prevent matting!

Wow Mechman, thanks. I would never have thought of Pam or Vaseline in a million years.
I don't know that I want to trim him, but I may have to. We'll see. I did use warm water this afternoon, & it melted off pretty quickly. And I really do need to comb him out, he's a mess after all that playing.
I knew Daisy had long hair, so I figured you'd know. Thanks again.
