I have a vacuum sealer, not a food saver but just as good.
I love it. Well worth the investment. Buy one.I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

I have a food saver. I've had it for years and I LOVE it. I put all my meat in it, and bulk baking supplies and coffee. Makes shopping at Costco that much more cost effective.

Funny you should ask-I've pondered the same question.I just scored one @ Canadian Tire today(actually posted a brag about it,too)!
They have a bonus pack on for $129.00 in the Black Friday flyer-it's a terrific value,as the bonus is worth $85.00,and that model sealer is around $169. reg. price according to the Foodsaver website.I got the sealing unit w/1 roll of bag material, the bonus was a 2 pack of 11inx16ft. bag material plus a starter kit w/ 1 8in.x20 ft roll;another 11in.x16ft roll;1 bottle stopper(for keeping beverages fresh)12 re-usable fridge storage bags;a sealer attachment for the fridge bags;and a sealable lunch/leftover container.
According to the manual, storage time is as much as 4x that of conventional freezer bags, and I've eaten Foodsaver sealed Cabbage Rolls that were 2 years old and tasted freshly made.I'll be using mine mostly to repack meat into meal sized portions, but will get more use out of it with next years garden harvest.

Pretty simple to use really. Buy foods in bulk (Costco), use vacuum sealer, freeze. It's a good idea to freeze amounts you would normally use for a meal. If there are 4 of you, freeze 4 pieces of meat together or 2 and 2 or single serve. Bags come in 2 widths for large and small amounts of food. I use them for freezing fresh caught fish filets and of course steaks and chops.
I can't profess to understand God's plan. Christ promised the resurrection of the dead. I just thought he had something a little different in mind.

I have a food saver and love it. Having a garden it's allowed me to save veggies all year and they stay so fresh. It also has saved me money because you can keep foods longer. Definitely worth the investment,

We have one and love it. There are only two of us but we constantly shop at Costco this way we packaged what we need and freeze it in serving sizes just for us. As well our one freezer isn't so good really needs to be replaced but we lack the $$$, everything in it gets freezer burn it seems like within hours, not when we use the food saver.
