and, you know the deal with sdm coupons' terms. Every coupon says " not to be used in conjunction with any other offer", and it is such a wide statement that some cashiers think that coupon cant be used on sale priced items, some cashiers think that 20x PRODUCT bonus points cant be used on a 20x wus $50.00 days which boils my mind. It's totally unfair to reject taking coupons for 10x/15x/20x pts on PRODUCTS during 20x days. Their own receipt classifies "product bonus pts", "department bonus pts", " transaction bonus pts" in seperate lines. This means that these pts are seperate pts and we can use them on a 20x day. Had it been that we couldnt use product/department bonus pts on a 20x or 18500 bonus pts days based on their "not to be used...." Terms, it would have been totally cheating from sdm to offer bonus pts on different products on a bonus pts shop days.
for example, offering 20x pts on physicians formula in their flyer on a bonus 20x shop days can kead to big lawsuits if we let cashiers interpret our coupons as "not to be used.....blah blah".

sorry i went a little off topic but i had to vent it out and let everyone know to be confident on combinning product bonus pts with transaction bonus pts (the big coupon they sent in friday personalized coupons but not the 30x wus everything etc, on a 20x or 18500 flyer bonus promo days.

Thanks, amira. I hope to give this a try sometime with a cashier at one of my SDMs who knows me and is patient and willing to try things out

I had planned on getting the conair Infinity curling iron which is $120 at SDM but it's at SS tomorrow for $79 and no tax. The video game I was going to get is $20 cheaper at Target, and I haven't found a store here that sells Keurig even though they were in the flyer. Not feeling as excited about this weekend as I was earlier this week.......
Every year I have many top redemptions. And every year, I get items at SDM that are priced lower elsewhere. BUT at the end of the day, it is way less out of pocket for me to shop with my redemptions.

just an FYI ~ if you are needing Omega 3 vitamins.....on Sat/Sun ALL vitamins/health products are 25% off and there was a coupon in the recent SmartSource insert for $5 off Webber Naturals good on any Omega 3 supplements. Could be a good deal

Me too....there's a few gift set sets I want that are Shoppers exclusive and some good deals on pop, chips and cookies which brings me close to 105.00. Prices are cheaper on most things elsewhere...I might just do one redemption this weekend instead of the 2 I was planning on.

I am confused. An item may be cheaper somewhere else, BUT if you use your points at a redemption, you get it for FREE, isn't that the point? I am not that concerned with sticker price, because I am redeeming points, and getting the item for free, so I am not sure what I am missing here. Isn't that what everyone does with redemptions?

I want to get the biggest bang for buck but do know some items I may pay a little bit more (some items mentioned with huge differences I would go without) but at the end of the day if I have to pay a little more but get it free with points I am okay with that because this year we just do not have the funds to go else where to save a small amount of money. Most items I am looking at are make-up (nothing high end) so to save $1 to $3 I will get it free with points but where I would not spend the points is like mascara where Shopper's is $8.99 (I think do not quote me) and Wal-Mart is $3.97.

Ultimately stockings are HUGE in my house we do Santa Sacks and those take quite a bit to fill so my goal is to get 70% of what we need at Shoppers only paying taxes, if an item is a couple of dollars more at Shoppers fine but if it will blow my budget I will have to re work some things and pick it up later at another store.

Yes, but you may be better off picking up say groceries on your points and buying the item much cheaper elsewhere using the $$ saved on groceries (like the mascara example above) or if the differences are huge, redeeming at $170 on a better flyer

Personally; I don't want to "waste" my hard-earned points on things that are 3-4x the price.....it's just not worth it.
For example; I think it was last year they had Breton crackers for $3.99....no thanks....
