I know there are a lot of people out there who suffer from them. I've had one for the past two weeks now and it is taking the life right out of me. Can't take any migrane meds cuz of the baby, but it isn't bad enough yet to go down to the hospital and get a migrane protocol. I've also tried that Head On stuff, massages with lavender oil, but nothing is working.

    Any advice?

Yes I suffer with them too.

I am sorry that you can't take anything for relief. I have been finding lately, that even when I take my medications, that it doesn't always help, just sleep.

I remember suffering from a headache when I was pregnant, and I finally broke down and called the doctor and took an extra strength tylenol and the guilt I felt (I wrote it in his baby pre-natal journal) and I don't remember if it helped (not that an extra strength does anything now, but maybe it did then? I don't recall, just rememeber the "guilt" and wondering if I should do it or not)

Just talk to the docs for your own peace of mind, and research.

Not sure if you are the praying type, but I'll say one for you, it sure can't make things worse. ;-)

Best wishes with your pregnancy! And cherish everyday. My only child is now 10 and I can't tell you how fast that flew by.

Peace and relaxation for you. Does quiet music bother your head? I sometimes can put on my mp3 players (which has mostly Christian music so it's peaceful) and I can just "focus" on the song and nothing else, then sometimes drift off to sleep for a bit.

Sorry I can't give you a magical cure, but maybe something I said will help.

I take codeine when I have really bad headaches, it's the only thing that numbs the pain.

i get pain in my lower back and neck and that ends up in painful headaches.

I have been suffering with chronic migraines for 9 years now, last year as of October I had 85,I stopped counting after that. I went to a specialist in Toronto and it was discovered that I suffer from more that one type of migraine, I actually have had two migraines w/aura in one day. I have tried every non-medicine and medicine under the sun, now I take a tylenol 3 and try to sleep it off as best I can. I had 11 migraines with aura in Jan and Feb..none yet for March. I have my good months and bad months.

Me too...severe neck pain..and sometimes hours before the aura hits..I feel "out of it", like everything is moving in slow motion.

I have a long ice pack I can wrap around my head and it helps a lot when I have a migraine. Tylenol does nothing good for me...

I hope you will get better soon!

I get the classic migraine that is preceded by a visual aura. It is usually triggered by stress, being tired, heat, or bright sunlight. Having the visual aura is (sort of) nice because it serves as a warning sign. Usually I can take tylenol or advil when I get the aura, and that will downgrade the headache to a dull headache from a very painful throbbing one (still feel bad though). My doctor said I should take actual migraine medication since they are not completely avoided by tyenlol/advil.

I get migraines. I used to get at least once a month, but I get them less frequent now. I had one on Monday. Medication doesn't work for me. I have to stay in bed all day.

Yes I do but mine not the normal light sensitive etc kind. I get them in the front more like sinus headaches but theya re not they start in the brow area and then spread to the top then back of my head. Luckily I do not get them often anymore. They seem to come on with weather/pressure changes.

I have had a really bad headache on and off for like a week now. It goes away for a few hours and then comes back. Yesterday I woke up feeling awesome, and thought I had finally kicked it. Went out for lunch and much needed comic relief after a stressful week and everyone telling me I look tired (Thanks!) came back home, lied down to read a book, fell asleep and woke up with the headache again.

I do not feel nauseated at all but today I have zero appetite. I feel like my head is in a vice, and I am really exhausted and feel like I have been bulldozed. I don't feel like myself at all, and am really slow on the uptake.

Is this what migraine is? I don't have a history of migraine or even headaches that often. I have been under stress so I was thinking it was that....and/or the barometric pressure changes which affect a lot of people. Traditionally the summer heat and humidity makes me feel drained but this is over the top and I don't normally have a crushing headache too.

If I don't feel better by tomorrow I am going to the doctor.

Countess I am sorry you are having this horrid headache and as you said you are under alot of stress so its probably from that. Rest, and if you still have it tomorrow go see a dr because sometimes we say its probably nothing and we ignore signs and it could be more serious. I had migraines a few years ago that lasted days and nothing worked I stayed in dark room until it went away. I am starting to get bad headaches again (not migraines) with nausia but I think its from stress and I already take pain meds but they have stopped being effective.
