Thread: Reddit Gift Exchanges
-

Has anyone here ever participated in a Reddit Gift Exchange? Their annual Secret Santa exchange is best known, but they also have smaller, themed exchanges throughout the year (e.g., soaps, aprons, Big Bang Theory, books, yarn, holiday cards, Broadway, The Walking Dead, gifts for pets, etc).

Nope, sorry.
I have done lots of SC gift exchanges though. They are always fun.

No, but I've read through the results - pretty cool when a celebrity ends up as your secret santa!
I didn't know they had all the other ones.Last edited by Natalka; Tue, Mar 3rd, 2015 at 07:29 PM.

I'll bet! There is a great group of folks here. I don't mean to take away from the exchanges hosted here at SmartCanucks, I was just curious about the Reddit exhanges. Someone told me about them today, and they looked neat. The exchanges are international and sometimes celebrities participate, too, which adds some extra intrigue. *L*

No worries at all. Just thought I'd add that SC does some in case people don't go to the trains sub forum and didn't know.
The reddit ones do sound interesting! !

I did the Secret Santa exchange and got shafter but I signed up for the book exchange, so hopefully this time I get someone who's not just in it for free stuff.

I hope the book exchange goes well for you - it looks like a popular one! A lot of people are participating in it.

I heard some people got celebs like Will Wheaton through the exchange.

So, the exchange is over. I got two great books that I can't wait to read. I sent three books since the person I got was shafted in the Santa exchange.

I just participated in the Postcard exchange. I figured that would be a safe one to start out with! My match received the postcard I sent recently and posted it in the gallery. I'm waiting for mine to arrive. I also signed up to be a "rematch" on this exchange in case someone's "Santa" doesn't come through for them.

I have participated in two of them. A sticker exchange and a condiment exchange. I never received anything in the condiment exchange which was disappointing. I think it is rare for that to happen though.

My postcard arrived in the mail in November from Indianapolis. The postcard exchange was a fun and inexpensive one to participate in - low risk, too. I would love to join in on the Secret Santa exchange at some point, but it was just not feasible for me this year. Maybe next year!

I signed up for the Secret Santa exchange after a few years of wanting to but not taking the plunge. I opted to be matched with someone within Canada as things are a bit tight this year and I would rather spend on the recipient's gifts than on postage. I'm excited but a little nervous, too. If my match is a 20-something male gamer, I'm going to be lost as to what to send! *L*
