Oh, I am so thrilled! After 4 moves and 15 years later my DH, DS and myself went though boxes and boxes of stuff from our garage. We took 4 huge truck loads to the dump-YEAH! I kept some of the baby items, and other things for keepsake and best of all I have tons of excellent toys, cloths, boots, just to name a few for give away to friends and to the Salvation Army. I am sure the stuff is worth thousands of dollars. No, I not doing a garage sale. I have so blessed over the years, that it does not hurt me to simply give things away.

Doesn't it feel great? Good for you!
We did this a year and a half ago (we had 20 years' worth) - and it was very freeing.

Great job..I have to do this soon, I have 25 years and a household of 5 people, we have accumulated a lot of stuff.. I do give away a lot but it would be nice to get some money for some of the stuff. Just don't know if it's worth the hassle.

oh I am soooo jealous!! We have been here 27 years but I refuse to even consider starting our garage cleanout until DH retires. If I do it on my own he will simply fill it all up again. Plus I will need his opinion on what to do with so many things. We are the same about garage sales. Cannot be bothered having neighbours and strangers trying to cut the already generous prices down. Will simply donate what ever we are not keeping.

    Congrats!!

The last time we moved a couple of years ago we got rid of everything not needed any more by a huge garage sale and going to the dump. So far we are keeping everything down to a minimum and it feels great. Congrats

Cleaned out my Mom's house last summer after 53 years that generation were packrats lol
I made a determination that the stress of moving was due to all the 'stuff'.......if we didn't have so much 'stuff' moving wouldn't be that bad......

We had to clean out my in-laws home and then my parents home. We had stuff coming out of our ears! We did garage sales for 10 years, just because. The stuff was priced dirt cheap and the money went towards the kids education fund. And we still have stuff, our stuff, which i go through twice a year. Some stuff i sell on eBay, other stuff i give to the local goodwill. The past few years, the kids hold their own garage sales and it is a party. They do it because its fun.

Moving is so liberating! That's when I will be 'freeing" myself of the un-necessities!
