Thread: Feeling tired, dizzy, weak and pretty much useless!

Hi Everyone,
Lately, actually past couple of weeks, my body has not been agreeing with me. I have been extremely tired and weak, which is not usually like me. (weak to the point were I don't even want to get out of bed) I have been feeling dizzy and have had some really bad head aches. I went to the doctor (for a different reason all together) but I told her about the symptoms I was having. She just told me that I am just properly fighting an infection naturally and it was nothing to worry about. I had a few days of relief, thought whatever I had was over, but now, I am having the same symptoms all over again....I know my body, and, people keep telling me it is probably due to the weather change etc and my body is just adjusting to it. But, I pretty much feel like i have no energy. It is kind of scary because it is even starting to effect my mind and mood as I feel so much more grumpy, cranky, and things that use to take me like a few minutes to do are now talking me WAY to long. I am starting to even feel useless in a way, because I just don't have the drive or energy to do things.
Is anyone else feeling the same way I am lately?
Thanks for listening. This thread is currently associated with: N/ALast edited by saveadollardiva; Wed, Sep 30th, 2015 at 12:01 PM.

I definitely understand what you're feeling, it happens to me periodically as well. If it is an infection, it might be best to do what you can to sleep extra and intake a little bit of extra fluids. One thing that really helps my mood when my body is uncooperative is to acknowledge that I can only do the best I can, and that I need to remember to take care of myself too. Every action you take towards yourself will likely help. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks lovelikewinter3 for the advice. I am drinking a lot more water and I do try to sleep as much as possible. It just kind of scares me a bit because I have never REALLY felt this weak and tired before. Not even when being sick with a cold etc. I am doing what I can and going by how I feel. I just feel like crap because I know I am not giving everything my all lately because of they way I feel. My DH has been taking my cranky wrath lately, and, I just feel bad because it's not his fault I feel like crap.
But, like all of us we all have things that need to get done even when were not feeling well. Hopefully I will start feeling better soon, if not, back to the doctor I go.Last edited by saveadollardiva; Wed, Sep 30th, 2015 at 12:33 PM.

Get well soon, drinks load of water like you are doing, keep off the couch and eat well. Oh, stop taking it out of your hubby, I know it's easily said than done, but you wouldn't want someone to do that to you...no excuse for it really and it has lead to some marriage breakups

She did give me kind of a quick physical, checking my throat, my ears, touching my neck and around my ears. Asking me other questions etc. I don't know if they were related to mono, but, she seemed pretty confident I was ok...Today I am feeling a bit better physically, more energy, I will survive, I always do.

I went through this last summer. Turns out I had a bladder infection (I had none of the usual symptoms). I have no immune system (suppressed because of the transplant), so it hit me harder than most (had a lovely room with a view on hospital row
). Once I got some antibiotics, I was back to normal.
Did your doctor order any tests done? Bloodwork might show if you are anaemic (some of your symptoms are characteristic of this - been there, done that
) or have some sort of infection. A urine test will show if you have a uti or bladder infection. With both tests, you'll get results in a day or so. And if it is an infection, it can be treated right away with antibiotics and you should be better within a few doses.

Could your iron be low?
I had these symptoms, very weak, tired constantly, lethargic, slight dizziness and my Dr took blood and found I was very low with my iron. I know take an iron pill a day and even after 2 days of taking it I noticed a change right away!
I buy my iron pills over the counter at Coscto but Shoppers also sells them and they are under $10 if you want the name PM me
