Charity book sales and auction at work. I got a lot of brand new children's books worth $20 each, but only spent $2 each. Kids DVDs for $2! Also got some Raptors t-shirts with $30 price tags for $2 each! A brand new leather purse for $16! A lot of people are getting really nice gifts this year and will have some left for birthdays too

My daughter's car was totalled by a hit and run driver last Friday night. Car was parked in the street at the time so no injuries there. But insurance said if they couldn't find the driver they would have to pay the $700 deductable too.
Good news - neighbour had run out with his cell phone and taken a picture of the runaway drivers licence plate - 12:30 A.M. - that was good timing
Bad news - now owner was claiming the vehicle was stolen
Good news - RCMP and insurance cracked the case
Good karma - daughter just bought a 2011 Santa Fe loaded (on kijiji price $18,000 plus tax at dealers) private estate sale $10,000 no tax - low, low mileage driven by a little old man who had recently passed away
Total time of stress - 1 week

Oh for sure it will. When I was 18, I worked in an upscale furniture store and bought a bedroom set (with a huge discount) that retailed for $2200.. That was 40 (my how time flies!!) years ago and it still looks fabulous. When you buy real wood, it'll last forever!!!!! P.S. that is such a beautiful set.

After struggling to get back to my residence from Zehrs tonight, I ended up with a pretty great deal on lean ground pork...
Lean Ground Pork (3 @ 375g each): $11.97 (Zehrs Reg. Price) - SALE ($2.97 OFF) = $9.00
But it gets even better, after struggling to find them in the meat department, I asked someone if they could help, once I found them I noticed the price was not $3.00 per pack, instead ONLY $1.88, so...
Lean Ground Pork (3 @ 375g each): $1.88 each = $5.64
Ended up saving $6.33, much better than I was expecting!!!

My husband went to buy an x-mas tree from the local Lions club. He went to pay but was told - no charge - someone had bought up all the trees to give out. So hubby brought home the free tree and bought some other tickets the Lion club was selling instead. Win-win.

Just an " add-on " here. Today I went back to use those 2 x $5.00 coupons to get more of the Friskies wet food.
I bought 22 cans in total but made 2 transactions of 11 cans apiece, used a Friends and Family save 15% coupon on each purchase as well as the $5.00 on each.....laughed so hard at my OOP .45 on each receipt!
Now THAT is how I like to shop. ha ha Thanks PetSmart!
