How do you get stars?

How do you earn stars? I know it has somethign to do with rep but cannot find any concrete answers. How do people decide to give you rep?

Well today I gave a "REP" to redmouse because of the deals she found. I don't know how many I can give. It takes alot of time and effort to go to these places and find deals in bins, up on shelves, scanning stuff constantly so I appreciate the effort of everyone actually. I know I go and spend about an hour at Zellers once a week and try to find stuff. I also can't stand to see anyone's deals go without a thumbs up so I am always giving those too. I have no idea about stars though.

rep is transferred into stars once it is built up. This just changed a few months ago, before they were just kind of plain stars but now they are pretty and change into hearts once so much is accumulated.

People just choose to give you rep for whatever reasons they choose,

- super awesome post
- rep happy

etc

yeah I am very confused with all this too , see you have 12 rep but only 2 green bars, Patty smyth has rep 2 and she has 1 green bar.some ppl I noticed will have same rep powere as me but will have stars and lots of green bars .it just dosent makes any sense.I have got so many reps but only 7 rep power.Its confusing but Thanks to everyone who has rep me and kudos to everyone whom I have Rep and havent rep.

I'm also confused with the rep power bar.....I have seen the other day I have Rep Power 10....only two green lights were up....next day when i logged in.....it was Rep Power 6......right away I have send PM to ilovemykids and asked her about it...she said she will look at it...and did something to me....came back to me to Rep Power 9.....Seriously still I didn't get this.....

I've gotten a lot of rep lately but didn't notice any change in my bars Maybe I'm just don't see the change

Are the settings automatic with someone gives you rep or do the admins on the board have to adjust it? I try and give reps to people all the time.

You can't give negative reps anyway, the option is not there.

I think we're all confused. Honestly, I just like to see everyones deals and share mine when I find something interesting. But I still think every deal deserves a thumbs up.

Yeah, I am confused by the difference in sumi and redmouse. sumi is at 33 and has a lot less in green bars and stars than redmouse

I am guessing the bars turn into stars that turn into hearts?
