Jodew, I know most people here know what I mean when I say I don't want to be there but need to do what I have to do for my family and my boys more importantly. They do expect the world from you but pay minimum wage. It is funny cuz when I worked at big blue I used to hire customer service people for call centres to get paid no less than $16/hr yet I am taking way less. I don't know, but for now the hours work and I have to work on my skills to get a better job in the tax sector next time around.

Amy -- I'm so sorry that the tax course is frustrating you so much. It sure sounds like it is making you pretty stressed out. I hope that if it gets you much more stressed that you will consider if you really want to continue it. I've never seen you that upset!

NS -- New avatar is up! It is so freaking cold here, I felt she needed a toque and some gloves and a hat. I didn't even realize that the gingerbread was still up there, it kinda grossed me out, but everything grosses me out. I couldn't even watch Hannah Montana tonight cause she was purposely chewing gum in a gross way. LOL

Racefan -- Sorry about your kitty cat. It is always upsetting to see them in pain or suffering, and it doesn't help when the other pets make them feel unwelcome when they come home. I've always had pets that do that, I guess they just smell the vet on the poor pet and get all worked up.

Haunish -- Sorry about DD's birthday cake. I don't buy them from any stores anymore, I've had too many problems to mention. That said, I have no idea how to make an ice cream cake. LOL

Andit -- It is strange that you mention graves in relation to cerebral palsy.. they have been doing studies the past few years to try and figure out why women with thyroid disorders tend to give birth to the most CP babies. I am sure that once they have done more work on that study they will find a connection between Graves and CP. CP is commonly found in premature babies, and premature females also have a higher risk of getting graves or other thyroid disorders later in life.

That said, when you spoke about her iodine marker, and how quickly the eye problems appeared, I can see why they are being so aggressive with her treatment (surgery). That is a very severe reaction, and it is possible that if she was having other issues (especially with the CP) it may have been masking a thyroid issue that was present for a long time. You mentioned that she had blood pressure issues related to the graves, which is common in people who also manifest the eye issues. I can see why, with her added stress, she is having big problems.

How long from now is her surgery scheduled for? Is she on any OTHER meds that you know of besides the one for her thyroid? That info would definately be helpful.

hi everyone hope your weekends are going well. Tried to get on this morning but couldn't get sc to load, finally gave up and went and played my game all day. Didn't go grocery shopping with dh (dam)little bit upset with him this weekend. Casino again on Friday night, I didn't go but he was supposed to be home by around 10 or 11pm and didn't walk thru the door until 3am. Swore he only had the $26 the casino gives you in free slot play for the first few hours then they had where u could get 3x 4x or 5x the points and he ended up with 5x and got an additional $22 to play on but that he didn't ever get up to $50 to cash out so just kept playing. I've never really known him to lie but could swear last night he was lying before he went and when he got home. Made a point of showing me he only had 75 cents in his pocket but lol big whoop never showed me what he had in his wallet. Wouldn't be so upset if I didn't think he'd been lying about it and if he hadn't been going so often lately. Now that he's discovered the $26 they are giving him a week in free slot play he's been going just about every weekend. Usually comes home a whole lot sooner. Left at 4pm last night its a hour drive there. Another issue is the gas he's using to do it. We've been so broke haven't been able to do anything and it's really starting to upset me. We've had problems before due to his gambling but he made a lot more money then but went thru a lot of money before I packed my bags to leave. Guess I'm going to have to again this is just something I won't tolerate. Hope he gets it together but thinks I'm just being unreasonable. Can't see that even if he spends none of our money the gas he is using is costing us and we haven't had any spare pennies. That should get better now that we have our flex card back to pay the copays on my scripts with but then he'll just start using our money too, only like $40 or $50 but that adds up when your going as often as he is. Just making me sick that he doesn't see the problem and refuses to.

Good buy NS so glad you got a microwave again. The convection microwave I had we grilled steaks on several times really came out good were able to get it to the doneness that we wanted a lot easier also.

WELL....i tried out the grilling option today. do you know it takes 8 mins to make toast???? like wtf?

so then i put the cheese on it, and some bacon..and set it..turned around, my dh is hollering..wth are you hollering at me for? smoke was pouring out of the microwave..the cheese was bubbly, brown and rubbery.

so much for breakfast! *sigh*

i wish it was a convection one!

anyway just popped in to see what everyone is upto. looks like nothing. got to get ready for son's bday. you wanna talk about one hyper hard to handle boy this am!

He was having a hard time using the litter box. The same thing happened last year. One of my female cats had a similiar problem. She's on medication for life. He has to eat Dissolution Formula from the vet. It's to get rid of crystals.

I hope everything turns out ok for him, I know it is a really painful condition for the poor kitty.

So I've been MIA for a while now so I just wanted to pop in and give you all an update. I'm now working (almost) full time at the daycare. There are 3 daycares within the agency so my boss isn't easy to track down. I gave her a letter last week which basically said 'please let me know if this is just a temp job because if it is, I need to know now so I can start looking for another job. I really love the job but I need more hours.' They knew I wasn't going to go back to home care.
So, the next day the schedule goes up and I'm getting 34.5 hours for the next two weeks. (fulltime hours are 37.5) Even though I'm the last one to start working at the daycare, I was employed by the agency for 3 years (doing home care) so I have seniority over the other supply teachers. She told me right off the hop that she couldn't guarantee me full time hours but I told her I'd take it anyway. I'm also taking a paycut since I'm going from a contract employee to their payroll but considering there have been over 2000 jobs lost in the St. Thomas area over the last 2 years, I'll take whatever I can get!!

So, I either work till 5 or 5:30 each day then still have to come home and make supper. It's quite a change from me being able to get on the computer any time I want during the day so I'm having a hard time keeping up with all the postings! Things are getting better here. DH & I are seeing a therapist so that we can get along better for DS's sake. Only time will tell.

I've gotta go for now. I promised DS we could bake chocolate chip cookies this weekend and I have to start sticking to those promises instead of continuing to disappoint him. (that damn depression!!)

I just picked up dd b-day cake and am so disappointed..she wanted tinkerbell, and apparently tink's face has melted off according to DQ, she looked horrible, had them give me cake and almost all my money back, but this is the second year in a row they have screwed up her cakes.

is there another DQ near you that you can go to or get hold of the company, maybe they will give you free DQ for a year

I feel horrible,crying like crazy. I had to rush my dd to the hospital this morning, my cat attacked her face. It was laying on the bed and she looked at it and for some reason it tore her face up..I am a mess right now..I dont know what to do. We pulled claws out of her head. THey didnt stitch anthing just pushed the pieces back in place. Her shoulders everything are tore up. My dh feels horrible cause he couldnt stop it in time. Even when he grabbed teh cat it ripped his arms up as well. They are not sure how much scarring they will be it ripped her gums and everything. I just needed to say something to someone, hope I didn toffend. I had to take pics and send to my mom she didnt believe me..we will be keeping her home for a few days to watch for infection.
